Then let the existing filter cartridge drop down. This will ensure that the locking mechanism inside the fridge is in the fully unlocked position so the New Filter Cartridge can be inserted fully. When the existing Filter Cartridge is turned partially, it will tend to drop down. However, the locking mechanism inside the fridge will NOT be in the fully unlocked position. In this condition when the New Filter Cartridge is inserted, it will NOT go in all the way and can’t be turned and locked.
