Unfortunately it didn't fit (and I did confirm it was supposed to be compatible). The Samsung support page was not helpful. I finally found a solution in reviews on Amazon--some cutting of the plastic locking tabs on the filter neck is necessary for it to fit in the receptacle. After some cutting with a sharp pocket knife it installed perfectly. It goes without saying you shouldn't need to do this for a name brand $50 filter.
