Loved these but disappointed now

When I went to install it it didn’t fit as it used to and I turn it and all the sudden water started pouring out of our fridge where the filter was. I shut our water supply off but now it seems the filter broke something inside where the water filter goes. Extremely disappointed. Now a $45 water filter is going to cost me an extra $100 to try and fix my fridge.

Filters don't fit anymore!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We have used both the original Samsung and the Best Buy Insignia brand for our 4 year old Samsung RS22HDHPNWW side by side counter depth refrigerator. The original filters USED to fit with no problem but the "threads" that screw into the filter slot no longer fit. We were able to improvise the Insignia brand with a few shaves with an exacto knife but those are no longer available and the new Samsung threads look NOTHING like the old ones. I am not willing to use an exacto knife on a $50 filter. I think Samsung should send a new internal filter holder to match the filters they sell NOW....because they definitely changed them! We love the refrigerator itself. But this is just unacceptable and I'm hoping Best Buy and/or Samsung will address this. I have an extended warranty.

The refrigerator's water filter light will let you know when those six months are up and should be reset after changing the filter. Apparent filter redesign - no longer fits

This time when I purchased it would not fit in the opening - apparently Samsung redesigned the filter - the nozel and locking notches no longer fit in the recess. I imagine it fits some models just fine, but definitely not the RS277ACPN. I did go to samsungparts.com and confirmed that this filter is compatible with my model. That is what they published, but must not have tested. I am also disappointed in Best Buy. When I brought back the filter and explained the problem I was told that they cannot accept the return because it had been opened - regardless of the circumstances. I was told to go to Samsung for help. I spent 40+ minutes in a frustrating chat with them that went nowhere. All they wanted to do was send out a service technician. As for returning/refunding the filter they said I need to talk to Best Buy. I am sharing this as a warning to Samsung refrigerator owners. They have made a redesign and if you buy from Best Buy you will be out $50 if it doesn't fit.
