Samsung has changed the top and it makes it hard to get into the unit. I think I now know what to do to make it easier.

So this filter gives the water a better taste than the generics, in my opinion. Some people won't be able to tell. A few things keep it from 5 stars - it's expensive, and its a bit tough to screw in to the housing in the fridge. I usually have to take a file and file down a little bit of plastic to get it in right. Not a huge deal, but someone using this for the first time may be frustrated if they didn't know.

The filter is a good one; it's easy enough to screw into the spot for it in the refrigerator, but that spot is in the back of the fridge and so all the items in front need to be removed, the shelf removed and then put back after the filter is installed. The new Samsung refrigerators put the redesigned filter in the front where it is much easier to access. There is the five minute flushing of the filter that is a pain, but that's a necessary evil with water filters.

Samsung water filter is easy to put in fridge. Does good job of filtering and lasts for the 6 months as stated

These Samsung filters are twice as much as the generic filters you can find at the big box stores and on Amazon, but you don't have to worry about compatability, fit, and overall quality. When it comes to the water I drink, I want to be assured that I can trust the product to do what it is supposed to do.

Need these for my samsung fridge's drinking water system. Much better priced than local big box home improvement store. Also... most importantly... this one actually FITS. Once ordered online and the groves were slightly different from the original.

Great filter that does the job but the price is so steep for the name brand that it's hard to entirely justify the purchase compared to other filters out there. I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I go with a filter manufactured by the same company. Basically, it does as it says and the water tastes great, but the price could stand to be a bit more reasonable.
