I guess that makes it worth the money, I tend to not like aftermarket parts. I need to work on catching these when they go on sale. At least they last a long time. Be sure to use the filter until the indicator light on your refrigerator turns completely red.

The red light comes on after 6 months, even if the filter does not need to be replaced. The filter is good for about 300 gallons of water, so if you use about one gallon or slightly less, per day, the filter will do its job for about one year.

It comes with month stickers so if you dont want to rely on the display to keep track of it you can just slap a month sticker right on the thing. However you can buy alot of bottled water and bagged ice for the price of this thing. It just seems that as many of these filters that samsung must make that there could be a cheaper price on them. But if you dont have it, the water isnt that good. So what can you do. I think best buy should put a filter price right on the fridges in the store so you know ahead of time.

I think that the filter is overpriced but I took the same brand as before... Works fine so far. Bought it one month ago
