I watched and wish I hadn’t. I don’t know why there is such a fuss about this movie. Maybe you need to be high to enjoy the film?

Best buy is getting worse by the day with these 4k steelbook releases. They are limited and collectable. They should be treated with care, but are shipped to stores and homes without protection. I have been having to pre-order 3-4 copies of a steelbook in attempt to get one that is not damaged. This method lately has still not been good enough. Today i went to 3 best buys in the area and purchased thus movie at each. All three copies are heavily damged. The least damaged copy has no less than 8 flaws and a broken outer sleeve. Wow! Ill be attempting a 4th store soon. Always get nasty remarks from employees when trying to exchange a damaged item. Fun! Please fix this broken system! After not receiving a decent copy of the dune ateelbook, im upset and will soon be done spending thousands here a year.

I had seen the movie once about 10 years ago and remembered that it was a weird film. I had forgotten a lot and wanted to give it another try. The movie is just as weird as I remembered. It has some great performances from the cast but its just not my type of film.

This is a sad movie about drug addition and people valuing the wrong things in life. However, it does project some reality that people believe and life. I do like the sound track for this film.

This film is one of the scariest, real and most amazing film I've ever seen. The person who gave it one star because they didn't find it "entertaining," did not consider the film for what it is. It isn't your typical entertaing film. It's not the kind of movie you want to go sit down with your family and watch and expect to enjoy it. There are parts of this film that I have to fast forward through even, because it's hard to watch. Mainly the parts that deal with Ellen Burstyn's character because she is just alone.. and spiraling down slowly. I'll admit, I first picked up this movie because Jared Leto was in it, and because I also find films that deal with addiction to be really interesting. Everyone's acting is incredible, and almost in a simple way. They all seem so real and I think that's why this movie has such a huge impact on me. Every character has some sort of pain and each actor portrays it honestly and beautifully. I tried to read the novel but it gave me a headache because of the way it was written. (It doesn't have any quotations.) But if you can get through it I'm sure it's just as good as the film, if not better. This movie doesn't have a happy ending, so if you're looking to see the type of film where everyone turns out okay don't, this isn't it. It's not a movie that I want to watch too often, and actually I haven't seen it in years. But it definetly sticks with you. The music is also brilliant, it's so fitting with the movie and often makes it much more dramatic and terrifying. It's just a really fantastic film, but not in the sense that it's happy and enjoyable. I mean that it's real and beautifully done even if it is a really upsetting film.

    Requiem... Is Not For Everyone

I bought this for my best friend during the 2021's Black Friday sales for Christmas. She asked me to give it 5 stars because she loved it!! That being said, I have seen this movie years ago and was not a fan of it. Do I think it is a great film? Yes, but it deals in a subject that is a little too close to home for me. I lost a cousin to drug addiction. So, in the end, all that matters is that me, is that my friend loves it and truly enjoys it and she does therefore the reason I gave it five stars!! I hope everyone has a safe and joyful New Years!!

I learned about this movie right after I watched "Grave of the Fireflies" (another terrific movie). My brother, the one who showed it to me, said that GotF was likely the most depressing movie of all time, so I googled this, and Requiem for a Dream came up as #1 almost exclusively. Now I know why. I have never seen such hopelessness, and so brilliantly portrayed. I really sympathized with all of the characters, but especially Harry and his mom, because they obviously loved each other so much. The last line, when his mom says "I love you, Harry." caused me to break down and cry more than any movie I had ever seen, and I was crying all throughout that day. If the goal of a movie is to affect you, then this is easily the best movie I have ever seen. To the person who gave this one star: it is supposed to be painful to watch. If you think it "sucks" then go watch Hannah Montana. That probably fits your "tastes" more accurately.

This movie is unlike most movies made these days. Its a raw depiction of the harsh reality of addiction and the lengths people go to in order to satisfy the needs of their desease. Its absoultley heartbreaking! You will find yourself sympathizing for each of the characters as they struggle to get by. This really is a wonderful movie that is well written and beautifully shot but it is hard to watch repeatedly because its very gut wrentching. You get wrapped up in the lifes of these character and as you watch their demise you cant help but feel for them...........all the way to their tragic end. You dont want to miss this one....but make sure you brace youself!!!

    My Favorite

This is my favorite movie of all time. It is gritty, incredibly real, and in your face. This movie teaches you just how dangerous addictions can be, and how much they can change people. Some people tend to think that this movie is too graphic, but this is what makes this movie great in my opinion. There are parts of this movie that really make you want to turn your head, but I dare you to try. This film really sinks it's claws in you and pulls you in kicking and screaming, refusing to let go.

Wow. That's one word to describe this film. This is a moving, sad, depressing, and psychological film. It explores the horrors of drugs and their effect on people, families, and society. Aronofsky exhibits his style perfectly in this film and is at the height of his filmmaking abilities. This is an unforgettable film, as is Ellen Burstyn's performance which is sure to leave you in tears. Although it's an amazing film, it's not one you would want to watch over and over again.

    Best Drug Movie

this is the best movie i have seen that depicted the drug using and selling culture the best. great actors, plot, and characters. it was a very realistic portrayal of the lives of people just like this. everyone has a dream and these people had dreams of fame and drug use, usually used to get to the fame or the riches. it will make you think twice about drug use but also make you root for the drug abusers in the movie. very touching and a very well done movie.
