This movie is Resident Evil 1 and 2 remixed with some nonsensical Lisa Trevor storyline that goes nowhere ham-fisted that she lived with Claire and Chris in an orphanage (NOT MAKING THIS UP LOL) The ceiling is on my floor and my floor is on the ceiling, everything was backwards and both games smashed together making it very hard for none fans of the series to follow, I watched this with my friends and it was very hard for them to keep up because this movie throws so many different characters and scenarios at the same time. The movie had terrible costumes and CGI but that's to be expected since they made this movie on such a low budget. The characters even start complaining about the low budget in the movie at one point, clearly the director Johannes Roberts was frustrated with the studio, but honestly he should be grateful they even allowed him to make this garbage at all. This movie made me question my love for the Resident Evil series it left such a bad taste in my mouth with how they treated the characters and made Leon a complete fool. People saying this is like the games have never played the original games or even the remakes, stop misleading people. This movie encapsulates everything wrong with modern horror films. Watch at your own risk.

Won’t be for everyone, but for fans of the games it’s absolutely perfect.

If someone claims this movie follows the games, they either didn’t play the first two or were paid for the good review. I’ve played the entire series multiple times and the only thing this movie did right was naming the characters. Chris and Claire weren’t orphans, Birkin didn’t know them, Leon wasn’t an idiot who didn’t know how to use a shotgun, Wesker wasn’t in the dark who he was working for and reluctantly trying to retrieve the virus, etc, etc. I could go on, but I’ll just close this out saying it would’ve been better if they focused on one game instead of trying to cram in two. The movie barely made its money back worldwide so don’t hold your breath on a sequel.

They did an excellent job with the decor, the little details from the games (Herbs, typewriter, key references, etc.) But they missed so much in this. Missing key characters from the game, they made Leon such a wimp! They change/rushed the story and left out quite a bit. This was a great idea but failed on execution. I am a huge RE fan and they did do better than the other series, but, they could have done better. They failed and I don't know what games others played but this was pathetic. The only great thing about this was the details (Jill sandwich, burger, mansion scenery, etc.). Should have kept James Wann as director...

…clearly hasnt played the games. I wont spoil anything here, but they completey dropped the ball with this movie. I can think of more things they did wrong than I can think they got right. Trust me, do not buy this movie…if you think you have to because you love the series, wait for it to drop to $10 or lower. I promise it wont take long! This movie bombed in the theaters and for a reason, it’s terrible. Don’t believe me? Look it up. The movie movie barely broke even. If you want a movie that will tickle your nostalgia, go preorder/buy Spider-Man: No Way Home.
