I had issues with the unit not working. The countdown worked when switching to the one position, then nothing. I was sent a replacement unit and had the same issues. Nothing. The green sensor light wouldn't go on.

After three months of light use, the wiring between the battery section and main unit seems to have broken. The unit only powers on when the case is open slightly. No other issues with the trail cam but since it broke so quickly, I can't give it any more than one star.

A great outdoor camera for getting to know wildlife patterns… or confirming where mic are entering your garage… one or the other or both see as it comes with a couple of mounting options including a nice belt for wrapping around trees, it looks like it will easily wrap around an 18 -24” tree. It is just a 1” thick belt so you could but a longer one if you are thinking you have super thick trees to attach it too. You can adjust the recording and picture quality along with a ton of other settings. I set it to take a picture and record when it sensed motion and the video could be set to record from a few seconds up to 10 min. It specifically says in the manual that it will not work with rechargeable batteries, however it works quite nicely with them, so I will let you decide what to make of that information. You only need four batteries to make it work as well. Obviously you will not have nearly the same recording time, the batteries last for a while on these. With 4 batteries I was down to maybe 50% after 3 days in a high traffic area. With rechargeable batteries this may depend on the Ahr of the batteries you bought. The photos also have the temperature, time and date (the temp is customizable between C and F). One thing I noticed was that lights kill look terrible in videos and photos from this thing. When I was just playing with it in my office the photos and videos in there were a little obliterated from the lights. But this isn’t exactly advertised for using in a well-lit office pointed at a bright light source. I am happy with the picture quality over all the recording ability. There is a USB cable to plug directly into your computer as well as an external battery input. I can forgive the fact that it has a mini USB input (not even micro) since I can just pull out the SD card but that one is a hard one to forgive. I stuck a 256GB SD card in there (technically a micro in an adapter) and it worked perfectly. Everything is in the box that you will need, except the batteries and the SD card.

The Rexing - H1 Blackhawk Trail Camera with Day and Night Ultra Fast Motion Detection - Greenhunter camera is easy to set up. Takes batteries and recommend getting an sd card to assist in storing your photos. The camera comes with additional accessories to help mount the camera if that is your preference. I set the camera out on my porch to test it. The camera took good pictures in the daytime and nighttime. When taking pictures you can set the camera to provide the date and time of the photos. To check to see what photos are taken, the camera comes with a USB cord that you can plug into the camera and into your desktop or computer to view. Like that the camera is sturdy and appears to be able to last in all sorts of weather conditions. That is a plus.

If you are looking at the Rexing - H1 Blackhawk Trail Camera with Day and Night Ultra Fast Motion Detection model look no further! This device captures it all!
It was very easy to setup and get going. I was able to have it out of the box installed ready to go in minimal time.
The password protection was simple to setup and the 2.4” screen was easy to see.
I let it go for the night and it captured the armadillo, possum and even picked up the snakes!
The motion detection was great on this little device and would say worth while for those looking to get a glimpse on what’s happening at night or even day.
It rained for 3 days and never got wet or damaged inside!

Good Outdoor Camera

The Rexing H1 camera is great for any hunter. Its a great value with options that typically come with a high end outdoor camera. The best feature in my opinion is having the capability to run on 4 or 8 AA batteries. Yes, you read that right. You can operate this camera with half the amount of batteries it requires. Now you will have a shorter lifespan but it helps when you are in a pinch and need to get more batteries.
I also like how the sensors stick out rather than just pointing straight out or only having a smaller degree of sight. The sensors stick out left, right, and forward so this camera can get that quick snap at 0.2 seconds.
This camera takes a standard SD card and accepts at 128gb worth of memory.. my older cameras can usually only handle up to 64gb. This is a plus if you want to keep the picture quality high, want video, or keep your camera out in the woods for a long period of time and need as much memory as you can get. This camera takes 1080p video and 16MP pictures so you want as much storage as you can get so you dont miss any shots. For me its always having the camera out in the woods for long periods of times so I will be upgrading my 32gb card to a 128gb to use this feature. Even if I dont max the card out at 32 or 64gb its nice to know that you have wiggle room and wont miss any shots.
Lastly, I like the screen inside. I am used to having a small B&W screen which has minimal info or no screen at all. Having a screen in your trail cam is a game changer. I can change my settings and options with confidence and not worry if I did it right. Like I said I am used to having literally no screen and it was always a guessing game if I selected the settings I want. Not anymore! The screen also allows me to quickly review pictures or videos without having to use a computer or an sd card adapter to my iphone. now I can quickly view on the tree to make sure I got all my shots. Now I still swap out sd cards to see what I have on the computer but it is a nice option to see the pictures/videos right on the device. You can also password protect your screen so no one walking by can see what is on your device.
Great device great value for any hunter or a person needing an outdoor trail camera.

Its the first Rexing camera ive owned and it is impressive but here are some things you should know:
Takes 8 double AA batteries
Can last 6 month standby mode
You can choose photos or video mode or both
Very fast motion detection, starts right away when it sees something
Great for security or hunting
Plenty of infrared, can see 65 feet in total darkness
Connect USB right to your pc and view videos or pictures or take SD card out and read using an sd reader (PC).
Password protected
You receive a lanyard that is adjustable to put on a tree or you can use a tripod type mount
Records audio
Weather proof
For price range people use as a security camera and can do close to 140 degrees so can handle high temperatures
Has side motion or front motion sensors that are adjustable
Great clarity
Very well made casing, not cheap design
Overall I really like it and also love the fact I can set this up high up on a tree in my backyard and catch all kinds of birds squirrels raccoons etc.
I think alot of people over look this type of camera for security as well which I feel it works very well for.
Purchased a SD card to use with it and luckily my chromebook has an SD reader slot so it works easy and nice.

I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.
TL-DR - The Rexing H1 Blackhawk Train Camera is a decent device overall but is held back by the device's firmware and the overall value of the package. Compared to other non-cellular trail cameras in this price range, you don't get included batteries or an included SD card. The unit itself is at least well-made and I found it to be very water resistant (it withstood being sprayed by a garden hose). Pictures and video shot by the camera - both in daylight and at night - is mostly clear with some artifacting from the camera itself, a good tradeoff for the high sensitivity of the sensor. The mounting hardware it comes with is also well-made and easy to use - the belt easily wraps around medium-sized trees and the hard mount goes together easily and securely. Besides the value proposition, the firmware is the other problem with this camera - it doesn't allow for higher compression of images and video, it causes the IR sensor to be too sensitive at even its lowest setting, and the menu system is just very dated in how it looks and works. It's worth considering if you're looking for a trail camera, but you can do better based on value.
------------------------------------------------------
Unboxing and first impressions:
The H1 Blackhawk Trail Camera is packaged in a relatively plain cardboard box. Items inside of the box are packaged in plastic - this is one case where I'd prefer to see the packaging be all paper, as there's just as much chance someone would be setting this up out in the field as they would be at home, meaning you have to deal with packaging waste properly. Inside the box is the trail camera itself, a mounting belt (meant to go around trees or posts), a hard mount (meant to be screwed into a board, pole, or bolted to a t-post with a nut and bolt you can get at any hardware store), a typical Mini USB cable (which I'm surprised is still a thing in 2021, but I’m not knocking it because it’s easier to plug in correctly the first time than Micro USB ever was), and instructions for usage.
What I didn't find in the box were a SD card and AA batteries, both necessary for use. Considering that other trail cameras this competes with come with those items at lower prices, I was disappointed about this.
The camera itself is built well. The plastic exterior is tough enough where it survived a fall onto a cement floor without a scratch. It has a 3 lens motion sensor, 40 IR LEDs in all, LEDs to indicate power and recording, belt and cable loops on the back side of the unit, and both a hard mount and a passthrough to the DC in port on the bottom. the unit latches together with two snaps and the rubber gasket protecting the electronics inside. There's a small hole so you can lock or zip tie the unit closed.
The electronics package has the battery storage on one side of the unit and a small screen and controls on the other. At the bottom of the controls are a full-sized SD card slot, a Mini USB port (for those of you who don't have a SD card reader), and the DC in port. The controls are clicky but somewhat mushy and the screen is clear but too small to be useful outside of device setup.
------------------------------------------------------
Setup and usage:
The belt is nylon with a plastic clip buckle and holds securely. The hard mount is simple to assemble and use - you'll just need a socket and a wrench to initially pit it together. For my testing, I chose to go with the belt clip because of placing the camera on a tree.
Inserting batteries is easy enough. You only need 4 batteries to power it on, but you can add 8 batteries so the camera has double the available power and battery life. Note that NiMH and NiCD rechargeable batteries won’t work properly in this device; I tried a set (because science) and got 30 seconds of run time out of the H1 Blackhawk in setup mode. In addition to Alkaline and Lithium disposable batteries, you can also obtain alternative ways to power the camera - either a 6 volt transformer or a third party battery pack with 6 volt output.
Configuring the camera is easy enough, once you get used to a somewhat archaic menu system on the camera. You get options for video and/or photo mode, what resolution the pictures and video will be shot in, time lapse recording, sensitivity of the motion sensor, whether it uses the side motion sensors or not, sound recording, and a few other system settings. Photo and video quality are not options in the setup, however, so you can’t set the camera to tie up around 4MB per picture file and around 100MB per 15 seconds of video recording when set to full resolution; because of this, you’ll find that a 32GB SD card will fill up very quickly. The reason I say photo and video quality should be adjustable is I did compress several pictures to between 1/5 and 1/6th of their original size using macOS’s Preview app and saw no discernible difference in picture quality (photos went from around 4MB each to 650-800KB each).
I also found the motion sensors to be very sensitive, even at the low setting. My 32GB SD card I tested with filled in a matter of hours and the 8 AA batteries are already about 50% depleted over two days of being deployed at different spots because of this (set to record video at 1080p while taking pictures at 16mp).
The picture quality was good overall, though while zoomed in, even the 16mb images tended to look "softened" around the edges; zoomed out, everything looked sharp while being viewed on a 1440p 27" monitor. While images do have some artifacting from the camera sensor being set to high sensitivity, the tradeoff is better low-light photos. The artifacting improved with lower resolutions. IR photos and videos were crisp, clear monochrome and only had artifacts in the darkest portions of the images and video.
Inserting and removing the SD card can be a little difficult; I found that I needed a pencil to engage and disengage the locking mechanism. Note that it also uses standard SD cards so you can feel free to push a little harder to engage and disengage the locking mechanism without fear of destroying your memory card. My 32GB SDXC card worked perfectly, and the device claims compatibility with up to 128GB SD cards.
You’ll want to set it up to test your chosen settings before you deploy it for “field research”. Once you have it configured and working the way you want it working, you can deploy it to the hunting grounds and check it every few days for new content. Keep in mind the small screen viewer isn’t particularly great, so you may want to invest in an OTG SD card reader (Android) or the Camera Connection Kit (Apple) so you can view photos on your phone.
------------------------------------------------------
Issues:
So I think I’ve covered them all, but to reiterate:
1 - file sizes of pictures and video are huge so you should get a large capacity SD card to go with this camera
2 - the camera does not come with a SD card or batteries in the box, a big omission since competing products include these things and cost less
3 - the archaic menu feels cumbersome until you get used to it
4 - overly sensitive motion sensor
5 - soft edges while zoomed in on photos, including high megapixel images.
6 - just a bad value proposition compared to competition
The sensitivity and image compression issues might be fixable with a firmware update, as would be the menu system. If the camera were less expensive, the omission of batteries and the SD card would be more acceptable; personally, I’d rather see batteries and a 32GB SD card included, but either a price drop or inclusion of those two things would fix the value proposition for me as the camera is a little better with image quality than similarly-priced competing products.
------------------------------------------------------
Conclusion:
The Rexing H1 Blackhawk, by all measures, is a pretty decent trail camera. It’s dragged down, however, by poor design decisions in the firmware (menu system and image compression) and being a bad value proposition compared to competing products. For many people, image and video quality won’t outweigh a lack of storage and batteries as pack-in extras, but even with the bad value proposition versus competing products in that regard, it’s still worth considering as it does the job well, but you can do better based on value. Because it does what it needs to do well, however, I can recommend this.

This is my first trail camera and I have to say, it is pretty cool. Amazing picture quality surprised me. Love that you can take photos and or videos. Has sound and operates very easily. Records to SD card and functionality of it is very good. Attach it to a tree with supplied strap. Waterproof. Camouflaged to not be seen. Does require 8 batteries. Whew, a lot of batteries, but I will have to own it awhile before knowing if replacing batteries will be a sore spot. Super fast picture taking. Day/Night vision. Terrific motion sensor ability. This camera has already taken some cool pictures. It is going to be great fun.It is a quality build and should last a good long time.

I have chickens so I got this to help keep an eye on any other critter at night-and it was super cool to see what is crawling around in my backyard !
When I ordered this I did not realize it did not come with an SD card so add that little expense to the grand total cost. So, I got it all up and running thanks to my personal IT department. I was not impressed with the amount of options- I just wanted kind of a point and click- this does way much more! We found a good spot in my yard after many tries- we needed it far enough out of reach of the chickens for fear they would peck at it. After a few locations and nights spent at these not so good locations we found the best placement. We went full battery and while they dont last that long, we could not run power. It blended in perfectly so I plan to use it on the front of the house as well.
So, what we saw...2 raccoons, 1 snake (at least I hope it was just a snake), and a bird (yes a bird in the middle of the night). With the racoons I saw where they got in and was able to fix the fence.
I enjoy watching the playback- waiting to see something else is kind of like a little treasure hunt. I would show some pics (especially that bird) but I have yet to figure that part out and my IT department is out of town.
I highly recommend this for anyone that has kids or vulnerable animals in the yard. We are creating a 'Critter Bingo" with all we see.

I myself have never owned a trail camera. But many of the people I have hunted with have them so I have a general understanding. This camera has an easy setup. Just like many other trail cameras it takes 8 AA batteries, so I would suggest possibly getting rechargeables. The menu and settings are pretty simple to navigate and get started. It has multiple options for mounting. it comes with an included strap that can be used to wrap it around a tree. I like that it include a regular tripod adapter which means mounting options are limitless. One of the best features of this camera is that it has super fast motion detection. This is great for when trying to capture fast moving Animals. Although I believe this camera is best suited as a game camera it could easily be used for security purposed as well. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, high quality, easy to use trail camera.

Set up was a breeze and there are a few options for permanent and temporary locations.
The size is about like a bento box or small lunch box, it mounts easily with the provided hardware or strap and is light weight.
Tried it out on rigid mount on our back porch and it was maybe a 5 minute install. Caught a few bunnies and a fox on still camera so far, tested the video with a walk past it at about 15 feet and did a couple of stop starts - the box is smart and took separate videos and also pics triggered by my movement.
Looking to take it camping also so that I can see what sort of critters are checking out the tent at night. It is quite small and light as noted above so may even take it on a couple long or overnight hikes as well.
Very satisfied.

Maybe a decent trailcam if you get one that works correctly
The first thing I need to state is I think the trailcam I received is defective as it never captured any wildlife photos. Even in locations I put it that wildlife left evidence they were there. It usually wouldn’t even capture me until I was right up on it and sometimes not even then. I tried changing the sensitivity settings, locations, camera angles and height. I did this for several days and over the maximum time allowed. No luck. Other TIN reviewers seem to have much better success with their cameras than me. I’m sure it’s not user error because I have used trailcams before successfully. Plus I have set up and reviewed Ring and Eufy security cameras that worked as they should. I’m also a semi pro photographer so I’m well acquainted with photography gear.
The Good:
Build quality seems pretty good. It feels solid but still somewhat “plasticy” which it is. I like how it is accessed and it seals up nice and tight. It survived several hard thunderstorms attached to a tree without any water ingress. Blends into the foliage well too. Long, easy to use, olive green strap to mount to a tree. Tripod socket on the bottom and an external power port. Hardware included to permanently mount the camera using an included short adjustable arm and round wall plate. Also includes USB type A to mini USB cable.
The built in screen is a nice touch and makes it easy to set up and review photos and videos. I found the menu easy to navigate and I like the feel of the buttons. Lot’s of options for photo sizes, video length, time lapse, sensor settings and such. Time lapse worked well and can be set from 3 seconds to 23:59:59.
Auto White Balance seemed to keep the colors fairly accurate but blues could have a tendency to have a slight purple look to them in certain lighting situations. Low light could be grainy at times in low light before the IR LEDs kick in. Night photos under test looked ok. I never captured an animal at night so under test is all I could do.
Video was ok with good light.
The Bad:
As stated right off, I think mine is defective.
The instructions specs state the sensor is 2 megapixel. That’s enough for full HD but pretty low for decent stills. After taking photos at all resolutions, both outside and inside under test, I have concluded that it is indeed a 2MP sensor that is being scaled up for any higher photo settings greater than 2MP. So all you are really getting is a bigger file and no extra detail. I also think photo quality is fair at best. Highlights were often blown out too. Low light without IR LEDs is very noisy.
Rolling shutter when shooting video was very noticeable if the camera was panned to test for that. But since this camera will be used in a static location, that shouldn’t be a problem, unless your subject(s) are moving pretty fast. They could look a little stretched or skewed.
The SD memory card can be extremely difficult to insert and remove unless you have long fingernails. If not you will need something flat as the card to push it in until it clicks. Same for removal. This may be by design to keep a stranger from easily removing the card. Of course they could just take the camera if they want it badly enough.
Notes:
Does not include a memory card or batteries. Does include an offer to get a 64GB card for free.
Conclusion:
I live in “out in the sticks” in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and there are woods around my house under 100 feet away. I see wildlife all the time and that’s why I got this trailcam to review. I’m disappointed with it not working correctly. I think it would be a barely OK value for the price if it did. Other reviewers had better luck with their Rexing trailcams so do read their reviews too if you are considering getting this trailcam. So what are the odds of you getting a defective one? That I cannot answer. Based on my camera not working correctly for me and fair to poor photo quality, I cannot recommend this product.

Tried this camera for a couple days and we are not impressed. It sure looks impressive when you open the box, but that's about where the good impression ends. The directions are vague and lacking and I thought this had a rechargeable battery, but come to find out it is only an AC plug. It takes 8 AA batteries.
I fumbled through the set up and went out in my backyard to tie it to a tree. With our first tray, it took a few pictures of us setting it up, but that was it. Not a single picture was taken after we set it up and we come out into the backyard a lot. We have to walk our dog on a leash in the backyard to take her out and it didn't capture a single instance of that. The second day was slightly better, It took pics of us setting it back up in the yard, and even took a couple of pics of my wife tending to her plants, but it didn't capture anything else. No dog walks or anything. Very disappointed in this camera.
