I recently had Best Buy install a Pioneer AVH 3500NEX radio in my 2009 VW Beetle. The Pioneer unit does not have wireless Apple CarPlay capability. The technician who installed recommended the Rexing CPW-1 as a wy to get wireless connectivity. The Rexing CPW-1 is a must have accessory for radios with wireless capability. The unit is small and easily fit in my glove box. The CPW-1 was simple to connect, just 3 easy steps. The unit works flawlessly in my Beetle and makes Apple CarPlay seamless. Highly recommend the Rexing CPW-1.

Many others had issues with skipping songs being really delayed, moving the unit could cause it to power cycle which is annoying and other issues. I also had those same problems until I updated the firmware. Issues are gone and I am very happy with it!!!

I would not suggest purchasing anything from Rexing. After a botched firmware update to this device it bricked it. Contacting support. Through a months long conversation, at one point they told me they will send out another one. Which then turned into your serial number is invalid send me pictures, which turned into, oh sorry. We’re not sure why our database doesnt have your serial as a valid item. To send us the product, and if i can fix it. I’ll send it back…..

I wasnt sure if it would work on my Sony aftermarket dash stereo because some people said it would only work on OEM Apple Carplay but this is working great so far and so easy to set up. I would defenetly be recommending this to my friends and family.

Add CarPlay to your wired CarPlay Vehicle

The Rexing CPW-1 allows you to have wireless CarPlay when your car is already equipped with wired only CarPlay. I have two vehicles, one with wired CarPlay and one with wireless/wired CarPlay. The Rexing device was easy to install and allowed me to add wireless CarPlay to my luxury suv which I always had to plug in my phone as it was not equipped with wireless.
Setup is easy, take the Rexing device out, plug in the correct usb cable (includes usb c to usb a and usb c to usb c), turn on your vehicle and my screen automatically popped up the Rexing setup screen. Connect my phone via Bluetooth and I was done. Full CarPlay ready to go.
Surprisingly this device is very fast, although it’s an additional device in-between your phone and cars radio system, it plays no effect on speed. The Rexing device actually loads CarPlay faster from the time you start your car than it does with my car with built in CarPlay.
I have had good audio and screen mirroring quality. It sounds as good as when you plug your phone in. Simple to use, no extra apps. Plug and play with a car already equipped with wired apple CarPlay.

Simple to install and works like a charm

The Rexing Wireless CarPlay Adapter works like a charm and it was a seamless install. I'm using an Apple iPhone 13 Pro and using this with a 2017 Honda CRV. The Rexing plugged into my vehicles USB-A port with the provided cable and paired up with the Bluetooth on my phone within just a few minutes. Effortless installation and easy instruction card provided.
The Wireless CarPlay Adapter is compact and fairly small, about the size dimensions of a credit card. In the box you get the Rexing Wireless CarPlay Adapter, USB-A to USB-C cable, and USB-C to USB-C cable. As long as your vehicle has CarPlay one of these cables should fit your vehicle.
The benefit of having this in my car has been that I don't need to keep my phone charging at all times. I rely heavily on my CarPlay features such as GPS, music streaming, and phone calls. On long road trips when my phone is constantly plugged in the gets warm because it's charging and being used for navigation purposes. So far I have really liked the convenience factor of simply getting into my car and having the phone pair up with the Rexing Wireless CarPlay Adapter via bluetooth and I'm ready to get going. No need to plug in any cables to my device. All of my steering wheel controls work just as smoothly to navigate music and accept phone calls, so I can't tell any difference between wired or wireless.
The functions all work very well just as is the phone was plugged in to the USB-A port. I have noticed there might be a fraction of a second lag when skipping songs on a streaming service, but it's fairly unnoticeable. I was watching some video content while using the Rexing Wireless CarPlay Adapter and noticed there was a slight lag in voice sound and lip movement, but it seemed to be a one off issue on the Facebook Reels I watched.
Really pleased with the connectivity, as it's truly a plug and play Rexing Wireless CarPlay Adapter. The connection seems to be fast and reliable without any drops. I trust the Rexing brand for the quality of this product and standing behind it. I'll highly recommend this if you're looking to find a wireless option for your vehicle and CarPlay needs. Great thing about this is that I can also unplug this from my vehicle as needed, and take it on the road when I rent a vehicle.

Easily make wired CarPlay wireless with this thing

This is an excellent little gadget to make up for car manufacturers who are slacking and aren't including wireless CarPlay on their cars in 2023! In my case I have a Hyundai Ioniq 5 (who system should be similar to most Hyundai's and Kia's) and as advanced as the car it, it only has wired CarPlay. This little box fixes that. And it was super easy to set up. Just plugged it into the CarPlay port (the box includes cords for either USB or USB-C so you're good to go no matter what your car has) and started the car, went into bluetooth settings on my phone and chose to connect to the Bluetooth from this as clearly described in the included instructions, and presto - my phone connected and I now have wireless CarPlay. Everything works just the same as it did when I plugged my phone in directly! But now I do not have to do that. The system takes a few extra seconds to boot up versus plugging in directly, but it's minimal - I'd say 10-20 seconds. That's a fast connection, ready to go before I'm out of my driveway and I don't have to reach down and plug in my phone or deal with a long cord. A much better overall experience. It's a shame every car doesn't come with wireless CarPlay built in, but thankfully a product like this is an easy remedy to that. The box is super small and easy to have out of the way. I absolutely love how simple it was to set up and that it just works.

Finally! Easy CarPlay Technology

The Rexing CPW-1 is a great piece of technology. Why? Not only does it add wireless CarPlay to your auto, it does it really easily. I installed, and had it running in my car in...get this...less than 30 seconds!
The brains are slightly larger than a sticky note or external phone battery. It comes with both USB-B and C cables. Plug it in, set your phone to Bluetooth and Wifi and connect your car to the ID of the Rexing. You're playing music, using your fave maps service and so on.
I notice no difference in performance between wired and wireless connections. No lag, sound seems to be same quality.
Downside? You're not charging your phone (you still can though!) Also nice, your passenger can connect to the device and do their job as co-pilot and DJ. No need to find a cable for them, and you can keep your phone charging and connected.
Another bonus is that you can easily use a secondary phone or tablet, perhaps connected to a charging cable in your armrest or elsewhere and have that be your full-time music source.
Just adds convenient options. I like!

Flawless CarPlay experience - now wireless.

I got this in hopes that I could take my Apple CarPlay experience to the next level in my 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The CarPlay experience was always very good and I loved having the ability to have the Apple experience in the infotainment system but not having the ability to do so wirelessly was really something that I wanted to try and solve. Fortunately, Rexing has solved this issue with their wireless CarPlay adapter.
Setup couldn’t be any easier and the process takes virtually no time at all. All you need to do is plug it in, connect to the adapter Wi-Fi and you’re done. It’s that simple.
I’ve found the CarPlay experience to be incredibly solid. I love having the ability to just get in and go and the connection is automatic. I have been able to find no issues in the several days that I’ve been using it. There are a few quirks (not issues) that are likely specific to whatever vehicle you have. For instance, my Jeep leaves the USB port I’m using for the adapter on for 1 hour after vehicle shutoff. So, I sometimes have to go to my phone settings and select my home Wi-Fi network instead of the adapter Wi-Fi. Other than that, like the title says: flawless experience.
Audio quality is every bit as good as a wired connection. I can’t tell a difference at all. No issues with navigation, slow connections, I’m missing features; nothing.
I’m so happy with this adapter and the ability to transform my CarPlay experience to a wireless one so easily. Well done Rexing.

I was skeptical of a CarPlay wireless adapter, had heard of issues with making connections, lagginess, etc. The Nexing CPW-1 has exhibited none of those issues, was super simple to install, connected immediately, and works like a charm, same as if connected via wire. I bought this because the USB cable to my Pioneer head unit had gone bad, the Pioneer didn't come with wireless CarPlay and I needed to replace the original bad cable anyway, I only wish I'd sprung for this Nexing wireless unit long ago.

UNBOXING:
The packaging is quite small, to my pleasant surprise. The unit itself was well-secured within the box. Maybe a little too secure since it took me a bit of work to even remove the lid of the box from the box.
But other than that, inside the box you get the adapter, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a USB-C to USB-C cable, a manual, and a warranty/registration pamphlet.
BUILD:
The build of the adapter is plastic, but it feels well-built, and the cables are short since to prevent cable mess.
The adapter itself has a USB-C input on it, an LED to indicate when it's powered on, a TFT/microSD card slot for firmware updates (there were none at time of review), and a reset button accessible by a paperclip.
SETUP:
Note: According to Rexing's website, BMW's are incompatible.
Setup is super simple. I drive a 2019 Subaru WRX, and my USB-A port is in the storage compartment between the driver and passenger's seat. I used the included USB-A to USB-C cable and plugged it in, then turned the power on in my car.
Then under my iPhone's Settings, I went to General > CarPlay and it showed up as AUTO-AF56. I selected it as my CarPlay device. Then I went into to my Bluetooth and verified that it was also connected there. Then I engaged CarPlay from my vehicle's host operating system, and it was ready to go.
USING:
When you start your car, that's typically when power will be delivered to the CPW-1. For me, from the time I start my vehicle, it takes less than 20 seconds for Wireless CarPlay to connect to my iPhone 13 Pro Max and engage. For me, that's a reasonable amount of time. This is the first time I've used Wireless CarPlay, but I'm gathering that the 5GHz WiFi on the CPW-1 is certainly helping contribute to the responsiveness.
I compared using my iPhone via natively wired CarPlay against the Rexing CPW-1, and other than the start-up time (which isn't always immediate on a wired connection), I really didn't experience a difference in snappiness, reliability or resolution. Over my week of use, the CPW-1 was consistent in its behavior.
One thing to note is that some cars might turn off power to those USB devices when you turn off the engine—even if you leave power on.
CONCLUSION:
Honestly, there’s not much to say here. There are a plethora of adapters out there, and while there may be cheaper ones, they may or may not be less reliable. But my experience with the Rexing CPW-1 has been surprisingly positive even though I cynically expected a subpar experience.
I would happily recommend the CPW-1 to anybody looking to make their CarPlay experience go Wireless.

I read various reviews online that were mostly good so I took a chance. The setup is very simple and takes less than a minute. The unit is small enough to attach to the top inside of my storage in front of the shifter in my 2020 Chevy TRAX. I had wired carplay and always needed to keep my iPhone 12 mini charged. I now have the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 2-3 days of battery so no need for cables. It takes about 10 seconds once the car is started to fully connect and i don’t have to touch anything, it just appears onscreen and picks up on whatever song was playing. I have not had any lag and all steering wheel and screen controls work without a hitch. I saw cheaper versions that looked close online but almost all had pretty bad reviews. Idk about any other makes but it’s well worth the price for a Chevy TRAX.

Just for reference this was being used in a 2021 honda pilot … the product works as advertised after you do the initial setup but this unit definitely has some drawbacks that shouldn’t be there with how much the unit costs. First off you lose the use of the steering wheel controls which is super annoying the unit has at least a three second delay when you skip track.. the unit freezes and if you and your spouse are in the car at the same time the unit bugs out trying to decide who’s phone it should connect to and for how much this thing costs these shouldn’t be issues so I’ll definitely be returning it.

This Rexing wireless CarPlay device changes everything for us—it simply makes a wired CarPlay, wireless—without any hassles of installation.
This to me is key: no installation hassles! I plugged this in a 2017 Mercedes GLS where the CarPlay is integrated in the unit. Everytime we ride and go, a phone has to be plugged in, then we’re ready to go. With this, we simply hop in the car and it is ready—no need for plugging.
Installation is super easy—instead of plugging in our phones, we simply plug in this device where the phone is supposed to be placed, and pairing happens on first set up, just like any Bluetooth pairing. After that, it automatically detects the paired device every time we start the car for an easy ride-and-go experience. The connection is fast, reliable and has a very long range of connection.
The only downside I see in this one is, we actually forgot the paired phone at home. The car was parked at the curb (instead of the garage), and we all rode the car and left. The CarPlay started and we assumed the phone was with us because the head unit started up. The connection on the device and the phone which was in a bedroom facing the street was so solid, we were able to enter directions in the CarPlay unit until the signal was lost two houses down—only to find out, the phone was not with us! Of course, now whoever reads this will now know what to look out for—and this I think is the only downside of this device.
I think this is a must for all who still plug in their phones for CarPlay.

My car has wired Carplay, and that's generally fine, but it'd be nice to not have to fuss about wires hanging out of my center console, so I was pleased to have the opportunity to try out Rexing's CPW-1 adapter.
Inside the box you'll find the CPW-1 adapter, two USB cables (one type C, one A, depending on your car's hookups) and a small pamphlet that details the setup process. It's important to note that this is only for devices that already have factory carplay, it's not going to supply it.
Setup was almost shockingly fast and simple, and I almost didn't need the instuctions. Make sure you've got WiFi and Bluetooth turned on, plug the adapter into your carplay port, connect to it with bluetooth, and allow a couple of permissions. That's it. Your CarPlay is now wireless. All of your apps and everything work exactly the same way they did while you were wired.
I've been using it for a week or so and as far as I can tell, there's no difference in audio quality or app responsiveness while using the adapter. Maps work as they should, streaming music works as it always did, and that's really sort of the point, for everything to be seamless and invisible. My USB port is in my center console, and the adapter sits there with it, out of sight. Connection is quick and seamless when I get into my car, and my phone stays in my pocket.
If you're looking to add wireless to your factory wired carplay system, you can't go wrong with Rexing.

After switching from Android and purchasing an Apple Iphone 14 Pro Max from Best Buy I realized how much I missed having a wireless adapter in my Ford Maverick. This is my first iPhone and so far Carplay is excellent and in some ways even better than Android Auto. I have been testing this for a few days. The connection is fast. There is a bluetooth pairing connection screen upon bootup each time which I thought was odd but that could be a Ford thing also. It still pairs and loads automatically each time. The connection is fast at about 20 seconds. So far there has been minimal to no lag using Apple or Google maps. There is a half second delay switching music tracks especially with the steering wheel controls but I wouldn't have even noticed had I not been meticulously looking for things to point out in this review. The pairing process is super simple. The overall experience is basically the exact same as a wired connection. These wireless adapters performance do seem to vary based on what they are paired to which isn't always the fault of the adapters. This one is certainly great on the Ford SYNC 3 system. They also include 2 different usb cables for different connection types which is a nice touch. If I had 1 suggestion it would be to include a simple piece of 3M type adhesive tape as I am sure most people would prefer to attach it this way vs it needing to be hidden or flopping around. I would definitely recommend it thus far.

I have a 2019 Jeep Cherokee and I couldn’t be happier with this “upgrade” from wired to wireless. Michigan has new hands free laws and my wired CarPlay would intermittently work and disconnect. I’ve now had this for three weeks and it works right out of the box with very little setup necessary.
Some reviews mention lag - this hasn’t happened to me. I don’t know if that’s a “yet” or an issue with specific cars but zero problems here for me!

I previously fell for one of the myriad of advertisements on Instagram pitching wireless carplay devices. So I got what I paid for: some lousy junk. But this just works. Ignore the cruddy clone carplay devices and go with a real brand. It is super easy to set up, and afterwards it conmects to my phone within seconds. Super easy. Cannot be happier with the quality. The profile is slim as well, doesn’t get in the way of anything. You won’t regret buying this.
