I was very disappointed with the final movie in this trilogy. It was essentially a remake of the original. The first two movies were kind of fun, but this was clearly an attempt to cash in on the original movies done very cheap.

Pitch Black is great rated or not and it makes sense as a horror movie about things that go bump in the night but the second movie "Chronicles of Riddick" had its theatrical release butchered in a way that the studio essentially removed multiple pivotal scenes that told backstory as well as story that explains events that happen in Chronicles. Without these scenes the movie literally doesn't make much sense which is why it didn't do well. Enter the unrated cut aka directors cut. The scenes are restored along with some other things and suddenly the movie makes perfect sense and multiple characters motivations now make sense which makes not only this movie significantly better but it also fills in info for the other movies and the video game called Chronicles of Riddick Escape from Butcher's Bay which came out on PC and the original xbox then a remaster came out on pc and Xbox 360 with an additional set of levels and best of all the game is fantastic plus leads directly into Pitch Black and helps explain characters in that and the 4th movie. Its even still available at gog.com for cheap. Buy this set immediately!

I bought this because I'm a vin diesel fan. Plot was poor. Acting was poor. Outcome was predictable. A waste of my money.

I have Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick Directors Cuts on older DVD releases. I know from watching these movies, and expecting scenes, which never appear. These 2 movies are Unrated EXTENDED editions and NOT Directors Cuts. My second issue is when I used my UV downloads and added this collection to VuDu, Chronicles is 5.1 Pro Logic??? Yeah, sounds strange to me also, and I still haven't figured this one out. Overall an excellent purchase for any fan of the genre, story, or Vin...and priced very well...but KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING.

I picked this up for $35 on sale and it was a bargain for 4 movies on blu ray. I did not own any of these on blu ray so it was a good deal. A couple of nit picky complaints...only the 3 major motion pictures have download codes. The codes are both UV and iTunes. The animated straight to disc has no code. But, all 4 movies have their own Blu-ray Disc and all the extras from the DVDs. There are no DVDs in this set. For the completist or blu ray fanatic, this is the set to get. I gave it 4 out of 5 because of the lack of the 4th download code and DVDs.

Got this as a present for my dad and he loved them. The movies are loaded with action, the quality is great, and the price is perfect!

This was the role Vin Diesel was born to play. A great collection of great movies. A definitive must own for any Riddick fan. Get it!

These movies are great. i love the Dark Fury animation movie. altogether these are great movies to enjoy in that personal home theater.

The Riddick series is a great sci-fi action movies. This box set is cheap & definitely a must have for Riddick fans.

I like every movie that Vin Diesel is in.. Overall I love the story plots of this series.
