I have misgivings when it comes to sequels/remakes, I'm however pleased to note that this film is an exception. What gives humans the right to lay claim to a planet that animals populated for millions of years prior to our emergence? What gives humans the right to cage an animal and/or experiment on one? One will find oneself ruminating on these, and other questions of great consequence upon viewing this.

I am a huge fan of the original 1960s-1970s films. I am so glad they have been done justice with the new versions. These films are a great homage to the original films. Rise continues the story started in Dawn of Caesar, the intelligent ape. This movie has great acting, action and a very good story. I love the character interactions. Can't wait till the next in the series this year!!

Most people have written off James Franco, and it is kind of hard to sell a movie about highly-intelligent apes. Nonetheless, if you take the time to "chew" this movie, you will find that the movie has plenty of flavor, both in the drama of human nature and the futuristic possibilities of modern, medical science. Worth the money.

I wasn't expecting to have so much attention to it, but I was very impress with the story, at times when the monkey look at the screen I was tense and terrifying, of course it a movie, but when I watch a movie I put all my attention to the movie, that in times, a thought the monkey is looking at me, well done.

trying to introduce my wife to the planet of the apes, the book is about the original movie in the 1970s, since then the film authors were not as creative in their plots. This one the writers, the cast, and the special effects have produced a master piece in that introduce the how. I like it

The development of the main character Caesar was well done and tied the whole story together. The other main characters had dramatic weight and rounded this new cinematic entry into the Planet of the Apes Universe by telling a new version of the origins of a new up and coming dominant race on the fictional earth.

Cool modern take on the series cool to see what happens on earth that started it all.

This is one of the best acting films of James Franco. It is a must see film from start to finish. There is a sequel and a trilogy of this movie. That are also awesome movies for the entire family to watch. Well worth the money and a great family time together..

I'm a bargain hunter and was able to get the blu-ray/dvd combo fro $7.99 a few weeks ago. It also came with an $8 movie coupon to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes! I thoroughly enjoy this movie more so I had to add it to my movie collection.

I'm a huge Planet of the Apes movie fan. This movie in Blu-Ray lived up to all my expectations. The clarity, sound and overall viewing experience was GREAT!!! I'm glad I didn't find it in 4K because the story wasn't up to my standards for the movie series. Blu-Ray was perfect.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a reboot to the classical 1968 Planet of the Apes, is a story of a chimpanzee named Caesar (Andy Serkis) that becomes intellectual. Finding his true paths he becomes reluctant in whether mankind can be trusted. Good cast and score, this is a must buy for action genre.

A gripping story of how the apes first came to be the rulers of Earth (fictional) in the future. Great performances and CGI make this a must have for fans of the series from the 60s.

Thanks to stunning advances in performance capture technology, director Rupert Wyatt successfully ditches the cumbersome makeup appliances of past chapters, building the story around a cast of photoreal CG simians convincing enough to identify with as characters, rather than just special effects.

Great way to start the franchise on how it all started. The special effects were really good, and great choice in the actors staring in it. Their were some cool references to the original Planet of the Apes. To me this movie was once you start it you can't keep your eyes off it from beginning to end.

Got this to complete owning the trilogy. Wish I had purchased the trilogy set originally, would have been cheaper. Anyhow it’s a great movie and 4K on OLED TV is amazing.

O.K. If you know the Apes plot lines, you know where this thing is going before the opening credits. It's a nice take on the idea and the special effects and acting are superior to the older Apes movies. A new Ape movie is in the wings ready for release so if your interested in the new movie, I suggest you put down a few bucks and catch up on the plot. Very good extras.

This shows how because we are afraid of something and don't know about stuff we can be self centered and scared of things we don't know All while being egotistical and self motivated. It gives us what could happen if we don't open our minds and free ourselves of being so self inportant

I was never much of a Planet of the Apes fan growing up (It was a little before my time, but I remember tv reruns.), but I was willing to give this movie a try, primarily due to the awesome cast. I’m glad I did, because it was a truly entertaining film.

I saw this in the movies last summer, and I felt like, that was the best blockbuster of the year, so when I found out the BR version was only a few bucks during the holidays, I couldn't say no to buy it. Picture quality is spectecular, the movie itself is still great. Don't miss it!

I got this blu-ray during the christmas holiday sales for $4 and couldn't be happier. I don't think this movie was worth more than what I paid for. Had to pick up it since I liked the movie a lot. I'll be keeping an eye out for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes when it goes on sale!
