I didn't think I would like any of the Planet of the Apes movies, but when I watched it with my husband I have to admit that it kept my interest and had a good story line. It really made you think about whether or not Apes could really take charge of the world in the future. HMMM?!?!?!

I bought this movie for my son, but we both loved it. The crispness of blue-ray is great. I loved the original Planet of the Apes movies I watched as a kid, but these new ones are leagues better. If you haven't seen them yet. Give it a try.

I purchased this movie, to get a free ticket to see the 2nd one. I liked this one better, even though it is kind of slow until the end. I just thought the apes would be more evolved than they were in the 2nd one, but I guess they're holding back so they can make like 6 of them.

Love this movie. Such a great series. Acting is terrific and the films scenes are very clear, bright, colorful and realistic. Highly recommend it.

There are so many things right about this movie, the little things that are wrong are easily forgiven. Some slight plot holes, but the film and characters make up for it. The chemistry between Franco and Pinto is weak, however Franco plays his part. Lithgow is always a great asset to any production, and does a great job here.

Being a Planet of the Apes fan from way back to the original with Charlton Heston, I love this re-boot as much as the originals. (Though nothing can ever top the originals surprise ending.) Can't wait for the 2nd sequel, "War for the Planet of the Apes".

This was an enjoyable movie to watch. It had a lot of good action, and the BluRay was well worth the price difference. I loved how the story line set up the beginning of how the Apes started taking control. I don't want to give it away, but it's definitely worth watching!

I wasn't really interested in the earlier "Planet of the Apes" series, but this one caught my eye. It seemed more reasonable because it was set during present day. Andy Serkis does a great job with mo-cap to bring Caesar to life. Definitely recommend this movie to anyone, especially those like me where this movie is the first exposure to the series.

I honestly already owned this movie, just bought it for the steelbook. But, thoroughly enjoyed this "reboot". Andy Serkis is really good as Caesar. Make sure to watch the extra portions on bluray, it will give you an enhanced perspective on just how far movie tech has come as wel as an appreciation for Serkis' nuanced performance.

This is a huge surprise. I did not expect it to be on the level of the original movies, but it is equal if not better. The effects are great and the plot is way better than expected. Not to mention the blu ray has an amazing picture and truly clear sound. Worth every penny.

We purchased this dvd before going to see the next installment in this Ape series. Watching it again after almost a year felt just as good as the first time. Great story line. Great acting. Fantastic action. My entire family enjoyed the movie night watching this movie.

I was trying to complete my Planet of the Apes collection and i was missing the 1st and second movie they were only available as a trilogy set. The image is crisp and the HDR amazing. The CGI holds well the 4k resolution.

The 4K bluray is an improvement across the board from the standard bluray, but the higher image quality does reveal some of the imperfections in the CGI that are more difficult to notice on the standard bluray version. I still prefer the higher image quality of the 4k version, but buyers should be aware.

I've heard a lot about this series of The Planet of The Apes. Never watched them but this was really a good movie. There were some parts of the movie that I actually felt sad for the animals. I would like to watch some of the other movies made.

Was not a fan of the original planet of the apes. I was not real interested in trying this one just seamed not that appealing to me, wow I was wrong This was a very good movie from start to finish. I can watch it more then just once also. It's that good. Bravo!

My rating is more for the movie itself than for the Blu-ray content as I haven't looked at the extra content yet and may never get around to it as that isn't the reason I watch movies. The movie itself is entertaining, and does a very good job of rebooting the franchise. The sequel has more action, but the story here is better.

I was very reluctant to buy the newer planet of the apes movies, because of the last Mark Wahlburg version. A friend told me it would be worth the money, so I took his advice, and bought them. They are really good, and so worth the money.

I Liked this movie very much. It ties into the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" film very well. The acting was excellent, but was overshadowed by the storyline and the cinematography of Caesar as he grows up and learns to fight for himself against injustice!

Modern reboots to classic movies are sometimes a scary thing to witness, but Rise of the Planet of the Apes brings a really intriguing new twist on the franchise and definitely one to check out. The visuals and audio on this blu-ray release are great. No option for an iTunes digital copy is a negative.
