Hey, I like sci-fi and fantasy type movies. But always have been a fan of the Apes from the 1st movies and the tv series. I like these newer versions ALOT. 'Nough said!

John Lithgow and James Franco were good but the apes were better. CGI was great. Solid start to the series. Bought these to get ready for War of the Planet of the Apes.

One of the earlier planet of the apes. The sound and visual effects of the apes and action scenes are fantastic.

This was a good follow up to the first planet of the apes movie. The story was good, but the special effects were sometimes weak. Too much CGI can often hurt a good movie. Worth watching for sure.

I wasn't a huge fan of the original movies but this really blew me away. The movie is great from start to finish and is definitely worth it.

They definitely doing the originals just with a fresh take and good story telling. The cg is gorgeous and you really feel for the characters.

We watched this on DVD and loved it. We grabbed the blu-ray because Best Buy has great deals. Can't wait to watch it again.

I remember seeing this in theaters and being amazed at the special effects. It still holds up. A great trilogy that started with a bang...and Freida Pinto is a knockout.

I really enjoyed this movie. The picture quality and the sound are excellent. For 3D fans you will be very happy.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a fantastic revival of the classic films. Powerful, engaging, and visually breathtaking. Not to be missed!

This movie lays the foundation for what seems to be at least a trilogy and gives a good understanding leading into the 2nd movie. Very good plot and dramatic scenes come off as realistic.

no matter what, i continue to go totally ape with this movie and all of the movies (even the first); great entertainment.

As the first movie, this was a good starting point for alll the rest of the Planet of the Apes movies. Good!

I am admittedly jaded when it comes to this movie, as I am such a big fan of the original. In my opinion, this didn't hold a candle to the original. Too many lame references to the original (although not as many as in the Burton disaster), and the CGI was atrocious. Fine for a time-waster, or for a generation that NEEDS to have special effects and CGI in their movies. I bought it because I got enough Movie Money on the package to cover the cost of seeing the sequel in the theater (don't get me started on the 800 lb. orangutans on horseback!).

Can’t say enough of the series. I thought it was great. Must watch very long. So clear the schedule and make it happen
