No, I would not recommend this to a friendBrand response from Motorola Customer Care
Posted .That depends on the capabilities of the phone it's paired with. Not all devices offer voice to text or touchless control.

Great bluetooth speaker for car
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device is great for those of us without the latest technologies built into our cars. The Roadster connect automatically when I get into the car. With a 1-button push it switches to car speaker mode. This is a great feature, so I'm no longer tied to sorting and changing out CD's in my car; I can listen to all the stored music on my phone. Voice prompts are a little garbled and hard to understand at times. But sound quality either through the built in speaker or the car speakers is great. In the age of all the new laws of mandatory hands-free cell phone usage in the car, this is a great option. The device will also read texts and you can speak reply texts back (although, as I mentioned before, this is where the garbled voice becomes a pain as it's very hard to understand the texts you're receiving at times.) Overall good product for listening to stored music and making and receiving calls. A good value, especially if you can get it on sale, for under $100.

Bought it for my daughter who speaks to us daily
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was looking for a Bluetooth speakerphone for my daughter who has a car without Bluetooth. Though it is not illegal in her state to drive and talk, we always wanted to avoid it from safety POV. So my wife and I wanted to gift a Bluetooth hands free device. We ordered this beautiful device after reading Mike's review on 1/6 who had also bought it for same reason. My daughter got it and has been using it for the past two days to call us. She likes it's sleek look and the fact it is made for Android phone. The sound quality Is awesome. She finds this a great Pongal gift (a Hindu festival) from us. Every parent should gift this to kids if they drive a car without Bluetooth. ☺

Very Impressive!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro's -Lightwieght, stylish and built-in clip fits snug on visor -Excellent bluetooth range(33 ft from phone, Confirmed because I tested) -Ability to connect two phones simultaneously and use them both -Sound is loud and crystal clear when making mobile phone calls Con's -Fm transmitter is a huge plus in functionality, however it transmission is only halfway decent and static can be constantly heard. I didnt buy the motoR2 for this so I just use my aux cable to transmit music and the speaker for phone calls. -phone app works ok but doesn't recognize commands real well and car finder app gps location doesnt function @ all.

Good assistance for vehicles without Bluetooth
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a older vehicle without a Bluetooth system built in which i began using more frequently and needed to have some type of hands free phone capability so that I would not violate local laws. I had heard about this product from friend who were satisfied with it so I decided to do some additional research and consider purchasing one for my own use. I have been fairly satisfied with the device and have only had a few issues such as occasionally it loses the connection while I am in the vehicle for no apparent reason although it usually reconnects in a short period of time by itself. Once in many uses, it will not discover the mobile device when I am in the car usually when the battery life is low. Overall, it is a very acceptable substitute if you do not have Bluetooth capability built-in to your vehicle.

Good but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. Voice quality is not the greatest, but sufficient. Long delay when trying to make a call out before you get the voice prompt, but it's better than getting a ticket for using the cellphone LOL.

A great alternative!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our state has outlawed the use of hand held devices while driving. This is an excellent alternative for people like me who do not like headsets, ear buds, or devices like hearing aids hanging on their ear. Yes, it sounds like you are on a speakerphone. That’s because it IS a speakerphone. I got used to it within my first conversation. It was easy to set up, and I am old and technologically illiterate. I get into my van, turn on the unit, it automatically connects to my phone, and I’m good to go. No fuss, no muss, no tickets.

best I have tried so far
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several devices both FM transmitters and Bluetooth headsets this unit is the best of both. In my job I drive most of the day in a very noisy cargo van on calls I have been told they can hear no background noise and that I can be heard very clearly. The FM transmitter works great most others I would have to have the radio volume set to max to hear it. On this I have radio volume at about half. This also switches from my tablet I use for audio books to my phone for incoming calls and back flawlessly.

Works like a dream
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over all, great device especially since I got it for $1 after using my RewardZone points. Works like a dream, great to look at, very compact, excellent battery life. I personally love the apps that work with it such as your phone tagging your car's GPS location when you disconnect from the device when you park so you can find your car easily as well as voice commands using MyMOTO Speak. The only thing that is slightly irritating is that the computerized voice talks a little too much when you turn it on and connects your phone or activate the FM capabilities like it feels it has a need to narrate every thing that it is doing. There should be a way to turn that feature off or for it to auto-learn that if it's been used with the same phone say 2-5 times that the user probably knows what he's doing by now and how to use it.

works with iPhone 5s perfectly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second unit..I love its ease of use and features, but unfortunately my first one just wouldn't hold a charge once it ran down the first time. But I really liked the unit so Im giving another one a try and so far its staying charged and playing well with siri. Im not really using the FM feature on it much, just using as a direct speaker phone. But when I do use the FM its simple to operate as well had has fair quality. Not as good as using an aux jack but my 2005 corolla does not give me that option and I do prefer it to my Bluetooth earpiece in the car. Im usually riding alone so perceived privacy using the earpiece is not needed or really an advantage

Great Bluetoothh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first bluetooth. It is great that I don't have to use my speaker on my cell phone while driving. With this Motorola it has great sound unlike with the speaker on my cell. I can even have the window open and can still hear and so can the person I am talking to. The only problem I have had is when I want to call someone and say the command "call" whomever it very seldom gets the correct person. Its easier to use my cell and call the number the call immediately goes to the bluetooth. Receiving calls no problems. I do recommend this bluetooth and can't imagine not having it. I am getting this for my daughter for her birthday since she is on the road most of her day.

Good sound and features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this bluetooth speakerphone. I had purchased the Java Drive (or whatever it is called) and it works OK but the sound quality is subpar. The Motorola Roadster 2 has very good sound quality. The voice control also works very well. I use it with an iPhone and so I can't use some of the advanced features that require an Android phone, but I still like the speakerphone. The only think I like better on the Java Drive is the power cord can be used with my iPhone AC adapter as well as the in-car plug. The Roadster does not come with a way to charge from AC. I presume there is a charger you can purchase separately.

Not bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have an older vehicle lacking Bluetooth its not a bad option. The reception is decent. The only drawback is sometimes the connection isn't constant.

Expected so much more
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product from bestbuy online and paid extra to get the shipping next day an for the first week I couldn't of been happier w the product then I had a couple calls that I couldn't understand the person on the line.....and then seemed to clear up.....when u get in the vehicle it would automatically detect ur phone and sync without ever touching the speaker....I thought this was a very cool feature....when it does sync it notifies u over the speaker that it is paired and how much battery life....the battery life seemed very good because u could do a full charge in an he and it would run for like a month it seemed.....then it just quit so took it back to bestbuy and replaced it no questions asked and even gave me myomere back that I paid to have it shipped next day originally....very pleased w the service....then the new one quit after 2 days, same thing so took it back and got refunded....will b looking for another.....I would not advise this product....use to Motorola products couldn't get any better but this version is junk...I do give a 2.0 rating because of the battery life and he cool features but seemed they are only concept features......I hope my experience helps someone else considering this device....I'm considering the new jabra freeway....we will c how that one performs
