I extremely like the original Robocop film with Peter Weller playing the titles character. This movie isn't really a remake, but a nice reboot in which the director put his own spin to the character of Robocop. It wasn't a dull or a complete remake like we got with Carrie or Red Dawn. I like the focus of Alex Murphy's transition into Robocop and the struggle between humanity and machine and the depravity of one's humanity. The only thing bad that I would say is that it didn't have a clear and absolute bad guy for Murphy to stop. Just caught between the politics and bureaucracy of how we should protect ourselves and capitalism. Also, the futurepak is a better quality than the usual metalpaks, but wish it was given the steelbook treatment instead.

I wouldn't say that it has a better story than the original Robocop. This is not a bad movie, but the original had a lot more drama...you felt for the character, the plot was developed properly and over time...this movie fell flat into the action movie category. Apparently a good story was too much to ask for so they substituted with polished special effects and the like. This Robocop doesn't walk like the Robocop of my childhood walked....the original Robocop had all the great one liners, and what the quirkiness of the "commercials" added to the original was lost and poorly imitated by Samuel Jackson (on a side note...Sam used to be great, it's like he and Nick Cage are suffering from the same problem). If you thought the original Robocop wasn't fast paced, didn't look good enough, or the story was too much for you to follow this is your movie. I watched them back to back and the original is superior. As a stand alone movie this is about as good as Thor...you get the feeling they spent a lot of money to impress 15-18 year old boys!!

This remake of Robocop is spectacular. The original 1987 movie is still by far better. The effects and action in the remake are real. The whole movie is very sophisticated and fun. I love how they made Robocop very agile. Peter Weller is still better than the actor in the remake. Overall, the movie is very fun and actiony but nothing beats the original.

This version of RoboCop follows the same basic origin story, but is certainly more friendly for younger viewers than the exaggeratedly violent original. Enough changes were made, including a near-completely different plot, for the reboot so that it isn't like watching a watered down version of the original.

i was going to be very critical about it and to my surprise It was better than i thought it was going to be.. its definitely not the groosem one were use to but they do dive into the suit much more and i personally like that, but that's just me. I had to get it for my collection as a fan.

The original RoboCop was a great movie so of course given the trend of remakes being horrible, I expected no better of this one. However, it pleasantly surprised me even though it still is inferior to the original. Don't pre-judge too much and give it a chance

This wasn't as good as the original movie in my opinion but it was still very good. Like most remakes, fans of the originals can't appreciate them for what they are, either they're too different or not different enough and people will complain either way.

I was very happy with this movie overall. There are several differences from the original version, but it was overall a great remake. I would totally recommend it to all those scifi buffs out there who enjoyed the first set of movies.

Haven't seen the original trilogy, but found this movie enjoyable. Nice Metal Pack, although Steenbok are much nicer packaging .. Too bad 20th Century Fox seems bent against releasing steelbooks in the USA.

I absolutely love the original Robocop so of course I had my doubts about a remake.This movie changes things up enough to give it a new take.It was much better than I assumed it would be!!!

"Robocop" is a remake that manages to find its own way. It may lack the social satire of the 1987 original, but it's sharper and more believable than the film that went before.

I loved the original so of course I was getting the remake. The blue ray was a great deal at the time. Only wish it added a 3d copy as well

You cannot beat a classic, but improve in a different way. This version was well made. I was recommended to watch because of the story. This version seemed to shy me away, but after watching I was impressed. The movie showed a lot of the physicological to what would happen verse the classic showed him being dead and brought back to life. The CG did a great job.

Really enjoyed watching the remake of this. I remember watching the old Robocop when I was younger, and this brought me back to that moment.

Saw this expecting it to be bad and was quite surprised. While I love the original, this one is really good and I hope it gets a sequel.

if you liked the first Robocop ever made then you will like this one. better action and special effects. the acting is also better. lol..

An interesting version of RoboCop. Not like the 1980's original.. Running time @ 117 minutes and has an easy menu to navigate.

I was surprised at how good RoboCop 2014 was. RoboCop 2014 was not as violent as RoboCop 1987, but was very action packed. Best Buy needs to keep getting Exclusive Steelbook packaging.

If you like collecting movies from different times with the same subject, this would make a great addition.

I saw Robocop when it was released in theaters and was not any too impressed - I thought Weller's original was way better. I bought it on Black Friday, and found it much more acceptable the second time around. If I dont compare it to the original, it is a decent stand alone movie. Samuel L Jackson's role is poignant - disturbingly so. It's worth watching just for him.
