||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked well for about four months then just stopped connecting to the Bluetooth transmitter. After looking for a solution online i found that this is a wide spread issues with many users. Roccat says they will fix this with a software update but the problem still persistent.

Poor Connectivity
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connection for the wireless is poor the transmitter is garbage so it take turning it on and off so many times to get it to work. Once they fix that issue they will have s good headset. Until then i will stick with the plantronics Rigs.

Good Quality for the Price
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I always seem to be in search of a good headset. Something doesn't work as intended, or the lack in quality means it's showing a lot of wear and I need a new one. The Elo 7.1 Air is a promising headset, and hopefully I won't need another one anytime soon. Unlike my previous headset, the Elo 7.1 Air isn't heavy. I instantly noticed that It fits great and feels great. I tested several different audio sources, and the quality is pretty good. It dare say that it rivals other headsets twice its price. Sound come through clear and crisp, and lows feel good. It picks up all frequencies very well and outputs them in the same fashion—even the slightest noises, I've noticed. Now this is a wireless headset. I personally hate wired headsets unless you're getting amazing quality no other way. While this does mean you have to charge the headset, I'm quite satisfied with how long the charge lasts before needing to charge. I've used it for several hours already and not even at 50% charge remaining. Kudos for not skimping on battery. It's already a great headset, but you can get more with the ROCCAT Swarm application. You'll get to customize standard features like EQ, and noise cancellation, but you can also turn on 7.1 virtual surround sound and super human hearing among other things. The Elo 7.1 Air is USB-only (wireless, so naturally it has its own audio drivers. I've not had good experiences with USB headsets, but I'm happy to say that the 7.1 virtual surround sound works well. It's not amazing, but it handles the sound as you'd expect. The super-human hearing feature boosts certain frequencies, but I personally prefer it off as the sounds coming through seem too processed. Now I don't get RGB lighting with a headset (you can't personally see it), but if you want to show off, the AIMO lighting effects are pretty neat. I like to sync all my AIMO devices so that they glow wonderful colors together. The only small con here is that I wish the mic was a sturdy piece and not wiry. It still works very well. I'm satisfied with the overall performance and quality that the Elo 7.1 Air headset delivers and would recommend it to anyone seeking an overall solid headset.

built good and better than average
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros -very good sound quality -adjustable. audio levels with equalizer software -comfortable arch piece at top -exceptional mic quality -set up is simple, plug it in -very good distance in terms of walking away from computer & still hearing audio(not disconnecting after leaving room) Cons -headset as received is very large -can only increase in size, no decrease, because of that the headset falls of my head regularly -not much bass to the audio quality -ear cups are relatively slippery, contributes along with inability to decrease size, to make headset fall off

Super clear, comfortable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure how durable these are, I did not do a torture test. Because kids and teens tend to snatch headphones off improperly. I imagine they will last just fine if you remove them with both hands. The sound is incredible, and deep bass, high clears, not splashy and clear mids, make these sound like an authentic 7.1 room. You forget you are wearing headphones. They're very comfortable and i wore them for hours. I wish they paired up with xbox and psp, but they do not. Other than that, the battery life is super long, fast charging, and easy to use. I highly recommend

Turtle Beach!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Anybody remember the Voyetra soundcards. They were Turtle Beach. I had a couple of them many years ago. They were great. I enjoyed them and still have them. That doesn't seem so long ago. Now I'm sounding kind of old. Try to stick to the subject. Nice headset. Good sound, great for gaming or music. Wireless but not bluetooth, you still need a usb port for the receiver. Cool lights but hard to see if you're wearing them. But others can see you and you will look cool. You could put a mirror next to your monitor if nobody's around. Works with the Swarm software which gives you a lot of options to customize the sound. You can also turn off the lights if you want to conserve the battery. I do like the sound of these but you may want to customize the settings to your own taste. Pretty good bass if you adjust it a little. Highs are really good too. Swarm also works with other Roccat products. You can also remove the microphone if you're not using it. Comfortable and pretty lightweight. I prefer the size of these over the smaller ones as they seem more comfortable and to have better sound. Buy it!

Great wireless headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been looking for a lightweight wireless headset that also looks good and so far I have been very impressed with this headset. I got it to match the keyboard and mouse from Roccat and this is the most impressive piece out of the three. It is very comfortable to wear for long periods of time and has clear highs and actually some decent lows for bass. I have played various FPS games as well as watched a few movies such as Bad Boys For Life to see how well it does with cinematics. I am impressed with all of the above. It also has a microphone that is very sensitive to picking up other sounds/noises in your room so if I had to have one con with the headset it would be that but I don't do a lot of talking when gaming so this isn't a problem for me but I could see it being an annoyance for those who do want to chat when gaming. I will say that it is very clear though when chatting through the headset. Solid headset overall in my opinion and since it is lightweight and has a sturdy head strap on top it can be worn for long gaming sessions without becoming annoying.

7.1 surround, mic monitor and super hearing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can hear 7.1 surround, myself and enemy sneaks up on me This headset is very nice, sturdy, well built, and headband made of metal but not heavy. It also auto adjusts to the shape of your head. Mic monitoring technology lets you hear what you say so you don’t talk too loud and disturb any of your family members. It has strong Wireless signal, I can walk 20 feet away. It has long battery life, I don't have to worry about battery playing game all day. It has intelligent lighting but I don't care much about it since I cannot see the light when wearing it. It is glasses friendly, meaning that while it still presses down on your glasses, it doesn’t hurt if you game, or watch anything for a long time. If you are a fan of battle royale games, you can enable superhuman hearing feature, you can hear someone like footsteps sneaking up on you from behind, you can quickly turn around to neutralize the threat. However, if someone is talking to you via in game chat, the footsteps get muffled out. Note that the mic is detachable which is good but it would be better if it provide a place to store directly with the headset. To access to all the features, like enable super human hearing, surround mode, EQ etc., you have to install the Roccat Swarm software. The only thing I don't like is the earcup cushion is wraped with faux leather and this make my ear sweat.

Solid performance, and lots of features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roccat Elo 7.1 Air is Roccat’s high end wireless gaming headset. This headset slots in at the one hundred dollar price point and offers 50mm drivers, 2.4Ghz wireless, 24h battery, on headset controls and memory foam pads. Overall it’s a decent package, and roccat did a good job of finding where to cut costs to build a remarkably good headset. First of all, the headset’s physical design is pretty standard for over the ear headphones. The cans are flanked with RGB leds that make sure your friends know your brand of choice. There’s nothing wrong with branding, but RGB on headphones is just tad silly for me. The memory foam is comfortable and doesn’t get too warm on your head. Overall construction minimizes joints, which have always been the first things to fail in other headsets. The joints that do exist here allow the cups to rotate, which allows the headset to lay flat. The headband is metal, and offers a decent amount of tension without feeling uncomfortable, even with my big head. The on headset controls are pretty nice, allowing adjustment of both volume and microphone volume. There is a mic mute button found below the dials. Speaking of the microphone, it’s designed as an attachment using a micro phono jack. I really like this design decision for two reasons: the microphone just plugs in and out, so you don’t worry about another joint wearing out or cables getting worn over time. Secondly you also can just use these as headphones if you’re not playing a game with voice chat. Now audio quality was interesting for me. At first I wasn’t sure, but then I realized there are tons of bells and whistles in software to adjust. First thing to do if you’re listening to music or anything that isn’t just a voice only or competitive shooter, disable them all. The audio quality of this headset is actually pretty excellent, with decent balance and tone especially for over the ear headphones. The soundstage is wider than some dedicated cans I’ve owned, and the sound is deep and expansive. Small details are very noticeable even at lower volumes. There is a bit of compression at higher volumes, and treble could be a bit more articulated at higher frequencies, but overall it sounds much better than most $100 headsets you’ll find. A quick note on the microphone: out of the box it has monitoring turned on. If you enjoy hearing yourself you might enjoy this, but overall I find it distracting, so I disable it. Friends I chatted with said I sounded loud and clear, so I don’t think you’ll have any issues. Software wise, Roccat’s Swarm software is actually pretty dang good. You’ll find quite a few features for their flagship headset that are psychoacoustic effects and sound adjustments. If you’re listening to music, you’ll find the 10 band equalizer to be especially flexible. The built in ‘Dynamic’ preset helped clear up the aforementioned articulation at high frequencies. There are several built in additional filters, like Voice Clarity, Audio Clarity (think loudness), and Bass EQ (bass boost). Beyond these basic audio filters, there are surround settings that add a spatial feel to the audio. Of course 7.1 sound from 2 drivers isn’t really a possibility, but the additional audio processing and psychoacoustic tricks really help with immersion, especially in games where directional audio is important. Another setting here is the ‘Superhuman hearing’, which is a fancy way to kill large portions of the audio spectrum and compress the result. This is horrible for music, but great at finding hidden sounds between explosions, or other loud noises - use this only when immersion isn’t a factor (I.e. competitive titles). Battery life seems pretty good - having only about 8 hours of use so far. Range is at minimum my entire gaming room. Even after a good amount of time, battery estimates are still at 15h. Time will tell how good it really is, but at the moment I have no reservations that this headset will meet any gaming’s sessions needs. Another cool thing about this headset is that it charges over USB-C, so we’re getting closer to the USB-C everything future. It’s a much more durable connector than micro usb, so I’m quite happy. Overall, this headset has a plethora of great gaming features, but even more important, it has a non-nonsense design and approach with excellent underlying audio performance. To me, the fundamentals of audio performance outweigh any software tricks, lights, or software gimmicks. Roccat’s Elo 7.1 Air delivers many of those features, but keeps that strong fundamental audio performance which makes it an essential piece of gear. Highly recommended.
