The cable works with the xbox one style, but for a series controller you'll need to use a usb c cable instead. The charge holds for quite a while, and it can be recharged while in use.

Will last about half a day on full charge. My battery came some what defective because although I fully charge my battery it shows it only half way charged and doesn’t last as long as other reviewers say it does.
