Did not effect the functionality. They were somewhat easy to install. Screws are kind of cheap but not a big deal since they're not really holding anything heavy. I did strip 2 of mine out and had to use my own screws. So that sucked

I only needed the 2. The mounts give you plenty of options to position the speakers. The screws did not fit the LG brand I bought from BB so I had to modify a way to connect. The mounts make the speaker stick out from the wall too far, can't get it tight to the wall for a cleaner look.
