Great Rear Speaker Solution

After four years in my apartment I finally decided I should set up my surround sound system. Upon pulling it out of the storage container I immediately remembered why I didn't set it up when I moved in. What do I do with the rear speaker wires? I have all hardwood floors in my apartment. I would have to get a very large rug to run the wires under, not a solid decorating option, or so say's my girlfriend. Running the wires along baseboards and door frames is out too. A Google search came up with the Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit. I read the reviews, very mixed opinions, seems you either love the kit or hate it. The price was right so I decided to try them. If they didn't work it's only a short trip back to Best Buy to return them and I've been living without surround sound for 4 years already. Bought them online and picked up at the nearest Best Buy. Simple instructions, just hook up the transmitter to your system and hook the speakers up to the receiver. Power and concealment was easy for me as there is an outlet behind my couch and I hid the receiver under the couch. Once everything was set up, followed the steps to pair the devices and voila, I had sound! Set the volume on the receiver and then adjusted using my Surround Amp. Tested everything using the Blackhawk Down DVD. Truly brought the battle into my living room. (Warning: It's probably not a good idea to test a surround sound system this way at 3:00 am. My neighbor was not happy) I am a happy camper and my girlfriend still speaks to me since I don't have wires strung through out the living room. I highly recommend.

This kit is what I settled on after ordering two similar kits from Amazon, trying them, and being dissatisfied. And one of them was more expensive.
So then I ordered this one, and right away they felt cheap. Very light, almost no weight to them, but they seemed well designed and I like the volume control on the rear speaker transmitter part of the kit.
Everything connected up easily, and I like that it included speaker wires that were needed. And when I played it, I was very pleased with the quality. It sounded practically as clear as if it had been directly connected, I noticed no hiss or hum or interference of any kind. The signal is very high quality and I was pleased.
However, two days later, out of the blue, the rear speaker transmitter completely stopped syncing with the receiver unit. I tried every possible troubleshooting option and even called their support and they suggested that because I was within the 30 days, to just exchange it at the store.
I contemplated whether to just try yet another unit, but being as happy as I was with the performance I decided to give it another go.
Well, I'm on my second unit now for about four months now, and all is well. It's running great, and I've resorted to not leaving it on 24/7. I try and turn both of the units off every night or when I'm not using them for a while. It's a minor annoyance, and part of the reason I deducted a star, but I'd like to keep them running as long as possible. It would be cool if there was some sort of an auto standby mode, but perhaps that's expecting too much out of something at this price range.
Overall, though, I'm happy and would recommend.

This wireless rear speaker device is the best. If you don't want to pay and deal with a bit of construction placing your rear speakers in the ceiling or have the ugly sight of speaker wire running across your floor this Rocketfish wireless rear speaker device for 5.1 surround sound system is worth the money and time to complete your stereo room. I definitely recommend purchasing the Rocketfish for the sound quality, the Aesthetics and the ease of making your rear speakers wireless.

I installed the Rocketfish receiver and transmitter per instructions with the rear speakers 15 feet away from the stereo receiver and was totally surprised at the sound.
The rear speakers produce a good loudness level and there is no noticeable delay. There is a volume dial on the receiver to adjust the volume level for the connected speakers.
I tested this setup listening to music and as surround speakers watching movies and was very impressed with the performance in both scenarios.
I was hesitant to get this at first because of the price but because of the ease of setup and performance, have totally no regrets.

Works surprisingly well for surround speakers. Can't tell the difference from a wired direct connection. Easy to set up. This is the best option for surround sound if you are not able to run speaker wires to the back or if you want to conveniently hide wires for aesthetic purposes. I set it up under my couch directly in line with my receiver for better connectivity.

Very good quality and sound is very clear, only complaint is that the unit does not have and auto shut off or a remote off/on option, they, both units stay on all the time unless you have to go to each unit and turn them off manually and on again when you need them.

It connected up easily and worked. Much fewer cords around too. The sound seemed a little less than I was used to, but that could be human error.

I upgraded my surround sound system with all new Sony Core speakers. While doing so I decided that I had had enough of seeing wires running around the room baseboards to the rear speakers. I did the research, read a lot of reviews, and decided to give the Rocketfish rear speaker set a chance. I am NOT disappointed and I am very glad I made this purchase. The rear speakers are loud enough and blend real well. No issues with the units pairing as I simply unpacked the units, hooked them up, and presto! Good to go!

Well after many many years of service my old rocketfish wireless rear speaker finally died so it was time for a upgrade and a replacement. I like the new units smaller and with a rear volume control. LOL my super old center channel finally died so I had to get a new one. Well at least it is cyber Monday :)

I purchased this product in hopes to add rear speakers to my existing ceiling surround sound. The kit works great.
The distance between between the transmitter and receiver is approx. 24ft. I had no interference or static with the sound coming out of the speakers. The setup was very easy.
I decided to return the product as it did not provide enough power to the speakers I wanted to use. It is not Rocketfish’s fault. The advertised wattage is listed in plain sight. I was hoping this would provide a solution without having to attempt to crawl through the attic space, or pulling my carpet up to run wires.
The product works great for its intended purpose. I would recommend to anyone that does not have power hungry speakers.

Perfect Solution For Rear Speaker Challenges

When I purchased my Denon receiver 10 years ago, I was unable to add rear speakers to take advantage of 5.1 surround sound. It was not possible to run speaker cables to the rear speakers. This year, Best Buy recommended the Rocketfish Wireless Rear Speaker Kit and use radio frequency. This allowed me to mount the rear speakers and connect them to the receiver component. Both the sender and receiver units are small and inconspicuous. The sound is terrific with no interference from outside sources. A perfect solution for me.

No more ugly speaker wires!

For some time now, I have been deliberating on buying this wireless speaker kit to replace the ugly speaker wiring that runs under the carpet. Reviews have been really good so took the plunge! Takes about 20 minutes to connect the receiver to the speakers and the transmitter to the AMP receiver. Wireless light on both units were flashing briefly and then a rock solid blue led light on both. Success. Sound coming out of rear speakers is perfect.

I'm super happy with this. Zero lag and it connected right off the bat. The transmitter is behind my TV just on the floor and the receiver is behind the couch. Not one disconnect or problem from it. I should had done this years ago

My installer recommended this unit rather than trying to run wires throughout the entire attic. I was sceptical, but gave it a try. So, instead of multiple runs of wire, we have just one straight shot across the ceiling (rear speaker to rear speaker).
The fidelity is excellent. The boxes are unobtrusive. And there's no discernable audio lag.
A total win. The installers didn't have to crawl all over my hot attic. And I spent $100 to save about $250. Works for me.

This powers rear speakers with no noticeable quality or latency differences. It hides “speaker wire” aka 18AWG 1-pair wires; it’s not Bluetooth or WiFi and hopefully you already knew that.
I turn it all the way up and let the signal from my receiver determine the rear volume. It hasn’t once disconnected and does not exhibit any static when there is no signal from the receiver. It’s loud enough but not to the max ability of most bookshelf speakers.
