Worth the watch & rewatch. In my top 3 Star Wars films

great movie and a great price added to the collection

Rogue One is a well done story and the 4K version just makes it better. The picture is sharp, the colors shine and the blacks are deep. This is a must buy for any Star Wars fan's collection.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the first standalone movie in the Star Wars saga and is easily one of the best movies in the saga. It takes place mere weeks before Episode IV: A New Hope and explores how the Rebel Alliance captured the Death Star plans. What ensues is a beautiful and exciting journey that brings unlikely allies together to serve a greater purpose. Perhaps the most memorable character is K2-SO, a reprogrammed imperial security droid who provides the comedic relief in the film, much like C-3PO and R2-D2 do in the other films (although K2 provides a different form of comedy). The film provides many small details that allude to many of the other films, and TV shows that can only be discovered upon multiple viewings, but with a movie this good you will want to watch it again and again.

Purchased this as a Christmas gift for my dad, and he loved it (as expected). I am a fan of the original Star Wars movies, not too crazy about all these remakes :/

Loved this movie when I saw it in theaters and the Blu-ray keeps the enthusiasm alive and faithfully reproduces the theatrical experience. The visuals are crisp and vibrant, displaying excellent contrast and detail. Shadow scenes are nice and dark without the loss of clarity or color. The sound is enveloping and when needed very dynamic and full of LFE. The story is stand alone and one does not need to be familiar with the Star Wars movies preceding it, although some cameos and small plot narratives do pay homage and directly tie to them. The director uses the advances in special effects nicely while still keeping the focus on the characters. A very excellent film to sit back and enjoy, and if one has a capable HT system at home, to show off to friends and enjoy that secondary feeling as well.

Fun movie. Originally watched this and thought it was good but after watching Rebels, this is really fun. It brings in a lot of those characters/themes. Great quality.

First I will just say that I liked Rogue One more than Force Awakens and I didn't initially expect to when I first saw it at the theaters. Having said that, the movie is excellent all the way around. But this particular package option from Best Buy is really the best special edition package being offered at the time of writing this. The steelbook art is unique to this package very well done. There are plenty of extras of course and I really like the fact that the main movie Blu-ray disc doesn't mess around. You put it into your player, choose the language for the menus and then you get the movie's main menu! I really like it when I don't have to sit through 15min of previews for stuff I likely have already seen or even bought. So yes, I think this is preferred version of the movie to get.

The movie is good and it fullfill the purpose of giving you 2 hours of entertainment transporting the viewers to some far galaxy. I enjoyed it, but for moments I thought I was watching "Saving Private Ryan" especially the last big battle on that sort of beach looked more WW2 than Jedis and Skywalker, but if you're really interested about learning how the Rebels got the blueprint of the Death Star, this movie is a 100% must see. Even if there’s always a Death Star in SW movies, and that’s a lack of originality, I felt that this time it made sense. The main plot is great but there are too many planets and too many characters, it’s impossible to remember as we all remember after decades Tatooine, Alderaan or Dagobah. The CGI characters looked too fake, like a videogame more than a movie, I’d not recommend to use them again in close shots between other actors, technology improves but we’re still too far and there are better options like using them in hologram transmissions or behind some video-conference system. Of course Darth Vader presence is short but rewarding and extremely welcomed. The bluray quality has some issues with dark scenes, sometimes it was too dark, but as I haven't seen the movie at the theaters, I have no idea if this is something related to the bluray or the movie itself, my TV is quite well calibrated. The dialogues are sometimes hard to follow because of the excesive dynamic range, but if you're reading my review before watching this movie please adjust both video and audio on your setup and you'll enjoy it better than me (I’ll probably do it the next time i watch this movie...).

Maybe because I'm an idiot, I did not go and see this movie in the theatre. To be honest, I still don't like the fact that Disney bought Lucasfilm. I do see the irony in that if Disney hadn't purchased the rights to Lucasfilm, we wouldn't have all of these new Star Wars movies to watch. Anyway, I pre ordered the movie, so it arrived on its release date. Since it arrived there and a half weeks ago, give or take, I have sat down to watch this movie four times, and started it a fifth (I was too tired and couldn't finish on that occasion). This movie is magnificent! It tells a story that offers missing information that until now, we just lived without. The story is clean and fills in the blanks well. If you are a Star Wars fan and you haven't seen this movie, well, what are you waiting for?
