Roque One: A Star Wars Story...I got it!

I was one of the people who pre-ordered this movie and I'm so glad I got it in 3D Blue ray. They had the usual dvd or regular blue ray but I opted out for this one in 3D for a few bucks more. Best Buy had a great price and when you combine it with the rewards you accumulate to apply. It's a great deal! The only thing was that the delivery was somewhat slow this time(bad FEDEX) but never does that occur. Must be a fluke...at least I was able to keep track of the progress and get disappointed at the same time. Best Buy GREAT...Fedex you lose this time:(

Rogue One – DVD. As usual with the Star Wars series, the sound, visual effects, CG effects, and soundtrack are all top drawer. It is great and satisfying to get the story as to how the Death Star plans were acquired! And of course that lead to its total destruction. I always felt that this missing piece should and might one day be explained and it has been here. There is good dialog as well as some good tongue in cheek humor (atypical of the films) making this an enjoyable foray back into this amazing outer space fantasy! Good film!

Empire Strikes back is the litmus test for me. While this has a few weak characters - not Forest Whitaker's fault! he is always good if the writing is - I did not walk away cringing over Jar-Jar, Dex, or the wooden Anakin and Padme performances. And I gotta admit, Felicity Jones really surprised me. Normally she underwhelms, but here her typical vulnerability worked to add depth to a character who was essentially orphaned and then abandoned by her surrogate father (nee terrorist). I must say tho - I hated the CG Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia

Rogue One, Prequel to Episode Four

This film is for diehard Star Wars fans and can be considered Star Wars 3.9 in the sequence of events that follows it in Star Wars 4. The plot concerns the rebels finding the plans for the Death Star, while it is being built. The resistance will now have the means of discovering its weakness, which is brought to fruition in Star Wars 4. Sadly, the new characters cannot be held over into that episode and so they become true heroes and (spoiler alert) martyrs for the cause. What other back stories they may have in the works, is anybody's guess.

One Of The Better Star Wars Movies

Taking place just before episode IV, Rogue One is low on sentament and high on action. Like all other Star Wars movies, it has some predictable elements (a epic showdown at the end, a witty robot, etc) but the storyline is enough to keep your interest. The good news is we know what happens before and after the movie so there is no waiting a couple years to find out what is next to happen. It's a self contained adventure that captures your attention and answers a few minor questions left on the table by previous movies. It was worth the watch.

Added this Blu-ray edition of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This keeps my collection up to date. For those Star Wars lovers there are so many pieces from the past in this movie to keep your interest. The new actors are good and seeing the old droids was great. Image quality is excellent 5 out of 5 stars Sound quality is excellent 5 out of 5 stars This is a must have to keep your Star Wars collection up to date. I went in to buy the Steel case limited edition version on Wednesday and discovered that version sold out Tuesday afternoon.

A Great STAR WARS Side Story

Really well done movie in the Star Wars Universe! The production design and camera work really captures that classic "Episode IV" feel. The overall plot is pretty grim and the ending is very dark and somber (no spoilers) but I like that it was "darker" in terms of the tone of the story as it gave it a real "edge". Overall, the character development was pretty good (could have used more character development for the main character though). The Blu Ray itself is an Awesome print and looks stunning on a 4K Big Screen TV. Highly recommended!

This could have failed like Solo or Rise of Skywalker but it holds up the best just like The Last Jedi.

How to fill a plot hole in 133 minutes. Essentially one giant fan film filled with a bunch of tiny references for Star Wars die hards. Maybe we didn’t all like the CGI characters, and maybe not everyone found Darth Vader’s dad joke as delightful as some of us. And maybe the updated tech and stage fighting skills makes Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’s final battle in A New Hope seem a bit...low-key, but I mean, at least we can all agree on the fact that the hallway scene at the end of Rogue One was nothing short of utterly and completely badass.

Rogue One: First Anthology in Star Wars series

Although made to be a stand-alone anthology, Rogue One, the first screenplay in the Star Wars Anthology series, does a great job stitching together some of the missing pieces between Star Wars Episode III ("Revenge of the Sith") and Episode IV ("A New Hope"). My only complaint in the movie is some of the characters are animated. That being said, it's hard to tell unless you are a die-hard fan of the original movies. And even with the animations, I'm glad they were included in Rogue One because they were integral in setting up Episode IV.
