My FAVORITE of the "NEW" Star Wars saga. Beautiful LOCATIONS...

This movie is truly an instant classic and answers the question of just how the rebels got the blueprints of the Death Star in the first place. A must for any Star Wars fan.

Movie keeps the saga going with lots of action. Very Exciting.

Stars Wars does not disappoint! I want everyone to own this!

Rogue One may be a one-off prequel, but it takes its place among the best Star Wars movies. My favorite is still 1977's Star Wars (which I refuse to retroactively rename A New Hope), and Rogue One makes a perfect double feature with that movie. Its story is the theft of the Death Star plans that eventually lead Luke Skywalker to destroy it. This is a gritty war movie - basically a behind enemy lines World War II movie where the Empire are the Germans. Unlike other Star Wars movies where faceless stormtroopers die bloodlessly, this is a movie where the deaths count. The cast is too big and there's too much action to fully develop each character, but what we do get to know about them makes the audience care, though there really isn't a truly likable "good guy" in this dirty half-dozen. Set aside 4 hours, watch this and Star Wars back-to-back and enjoy.

This Star Wars movie tells the full story of the 'many bothan spies' alluded to in A New Hope. The story of finding the blueprints and hopefullly a weakness in the nearing-operational Death Star. There are some great characters, a new, darkly funny droid and a wild Darth Vader scene to enjoy, on top of a great story and terrific climactic battle. I loved the movie, loved it in 3D and have enjoyed it more over multiple viewings. The Star Wars fan base knows that Disney reshaped the final battle some in post production but oddly, the producers won't talk about it and don't allow the director to have a commentary, effectively shutting down any discussion of it. This seems a bit ridiculous and robs us of what should have been a really interesting commentary. The supplements on the disk are good and the movie is terrific but I'm sad we lost out on a commentary.

It should be pointed out that this movie is NOT technically a sequel/prequel or even in the same series as the Star Wars movies. It is "a Star Wars story". That being said, this movie is still FAR superior than Force Awakens and right up there with the best of the Star Wars series, Empire Strikes Back. This being a Star Wars story, it differs in being respectful to the SW series with no Episode word crawl, no one uses the Force, no Jedi or Sith (well.... .maybe not entirely so on the latter) But this movie IS mostly separate from those known things of the Star Wars episodes. Story is constrained but still engaging. Characters are not so memorable but this is on purpose (as they suffer a fate to which their characters are not seen in the episodes.) Being vague on purpose. Anyway buy this movie. It is a worthy addition to the SW movie universe
