Fills a missing piece of the story

Great fill-in for a piece of the Star War story line that was "missing". It brought together the characters from 1,2,&3 with the original 4,5,&6. I heard the "Captain" of the Death Star in this version was CGI, but looked exactly like the original. The only thing this version messed up on were the controls of the "Death Star" in the original were lever operated and in this one controls were push button. Great movie overall and enjoyed.

For a non-Star Wars movie, that is, one without the known characters we all know, this holds it's own with those official movies. The character development is good and it feels like it belongs alongside the official movies. There's plenty of action to keep the film moving and the viewer interested. I recommend this one to anyone owning Star Wars DVD's. If you don't have any DVD's, buy it anyway. You'll not feel lost watching this one.

Great Movie Even If Not A Fan

I'd start off by saying the best review anyone could give this movie is that even a casual SciFi fan would enjoy the story and action in this flix. The added benefit of course is that it's a Star Wars movie. With that said, one of the best scenes has to be towards the end when Darth Vader makes his grand action appearance. Now just watching that scene is amazing but taken in context of the leadup to that, it's amazing. A definite buy!

Rogue One casts a female in the lead role as Cassian Endor, a rebel spy, with Jyn Erso as a fugitive- the new main characters and heroes who steal the plans for the Death Star. Darth Vader and storm troopers and imperial fighters put up a battle in true Star Wars fashion that fans know and love. Great action, surprises and an ending with Skywalker that hints at the next saga. This is definitely one to add to your Star Wars collection.

Aside from the originals that started it all, this was the best! It's adult geared (no stupid CGI character to amuse the kids, like JarJar <Yick>). It's dark. It's great all around. Fantastic job tying everything together leading right into episode. IV.
I loved it. Saw it in the theaters and had to add it to my collection.
Get with the program Disney!!! UHD4K is the way of the future. Wish it was a 4K release but that's on Disney.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first live action canon spin off film in the Star Wars franchise, is extremely good. The film is also a great companion piece to A New Hope. I highly recommend making it a double feature. Now to the Only @ Best Buy part of this review. If you love your movies in 3D then this exclusive is one of two ways to watch Rogue One in that format. Also I'm not loving the steel book that much. It's just four death troopers and five storm troopers in the ocean with the death star in the background. While the inside of it has our six heroes' character posters. It's alright I guess my gripe is that it doesn't match the other Star Wars Steel books, even the steel book of The Clone Wars film match. Overall great movie I say you get this one.

Great addition to the Star Wars canon. I saw this at the theater and was skeptical at first but was definitely drawn in to the stories and characters by the end of the movie. I can't say I loved the ending, but that is because I was selfish and drawn in to the characters. If you haven't seen it, by the end you will know what I mean. This is/was a great Star Wars movie and will erase any "Star Wars" doubts after one viewing! MUST BUY!

I had seen this movie (Rogue One) at the movie theater in 3D. So... I purchased the 3D version since I have all the equipment for 3D at home. It is GREAT in 3D, even better than the movie theater. Too bad those in charge have seen fit to eliminate 3D for home viewing. I for one think PASSIVE 3D at home is better than the theater. Those who got stuck with the active 3D probably would probably disagree, hence the failure of the format.

Provides a good back-story for the Star Wars saga, including the origins of the Death Star. Includes a very sarcastic robot, which adds some humor. Looks great in 4K.

as a fan of Star Wars and the ongoing saga films, Rogue One was a pleasant surprise. The story is one that needed to be told, and here it is in beautiful 1080p. I would recommend this movie to anyone who is a fan of Sci-Fi and of course Star Wars. The third act in this movie is amazing, gripping and well portrayed by all principle characters. In this movie, Darth Vader solidifies his position as the most feared person in the Galaxy.

This is a good movie that tells a great story in the Star Wars saga. I always wondered how it came to be that an exhaust port could possibly lead straight to the main reactor in the Death Star of Episode IV. What a huge design flaw! Now I know and you can, too. I also love that this movie makes clear how Darth Vader came to be pursuing the Tantive IV in the opening of Episode IV. Love how it all fits together like a puzzle.

I must admit I was not excited about the side stories idea for Star Wars movies. I was wrong. The story line in Rogue One is as good and any of the Star Wars Episode movies and just as enjoyable to watch. The actors did a great job and the story segment was perfectly in-line with the original episode. Great DVD quality. The video and audio are excellent. My only disappointment is that they choose not to release it in a 4K version.

I didn't expect much from this movie because generally movies outside of a series are generally just a cheap cash grab. This movie was the exception. In fact, the last 30 minutes of the movie did nothing more than make Episode IV that much more special. This went far beyond a story in the universe to a welcome addition to the series itself. So much so that now I'll watch this movie between episodes III and IV every time. Amazing!!!

Ok, ive been a starwars fan since the start - lets go back to 1977, its been a deep part of my life for many years now. And there have been a lot of un answered questions in that time about the star wars universe - THIS movie fills in a LOT of blanks and really helped me make sense out of a lot of stuff! NO SPOILERS here = but suffice to say I greatly appreciate this movie! BUY IT!!!!! learn from it and may the force be with you!

I had great misgivings about these spinoff Star Wars films but Rogue One is a great film on its own and a great enhancement to the Star Wars storyline. This is a wonderful blu ray presentation with good extras. For another treat Go online and find the YouTube video of the Lucasfilm creators watching fan reaction videos to the first Rogue One trailer. Classic interaction between the creative team and the fans! Highly recommended!!!

I really enjoyed this installment in the Star Wars franchise. The story was great and really tied things together. I would've liked to see more of Mads Mikkelsen's character throughout the movie, which was kind of half-developed in the opening. The audience didn't get to see his plan to sabotage the Death Star as it happened, which could've added another element to the story. Also, I didn't care for Michael Giacchino's score. You could tell that he was rushed to complete it. To be fair though, he had a lot to live up to with fans expecting something as grand as what John Williams has done throughout the series. Gareth Edwards did a great job directing this film, and I was happy not to have the obligatory highly emotional crying scene that's been a staple of most of J.J. Abrams' films.
