Would not recommend this one... Takes forever to build characters and it's disappointing at best.

I found this movie to be a "filler" type of movie. I did not like this movie at all.

    Great 3D movie

Everyone, whether or not you have a 3DTV, you can still watch this movie. Don't pay any attention to that 1 star temper tantrum thrower saying that they won't get the movie just because it's 3D and they don't have a 3DTV or 4K UHD TV. He is trying to get people to boycott the movie for ridiculous reasons. This is a 4-disc Blu-Ray 3D+Blu-Ray+Dvd+Digital Copy Plus+Digital Keychest+SteelBook combo pack. Yes, the only way to get the 3D version is through this but this is still a better deal than not getting the SteelBook because there is no regular 3D version being released. And 4-discs (Blu-Ray 3D+Blu-Ray+Blu-Ray Bonus Disc+Dvd) is a great deal for $24.99. (That's $5 off it's original pre-order price). So if you don't have a 3DTV and a Blu-Ray 3D player or a PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One S (in other words if you only have a regular Blu-Ray player or just a Dvd player), then don't worry it still comes with the regular Blu-Ray and Dvd discs. You only have to worry about stuff like this if you don't own a Blu-Ray or Dvd player.

    Great Movie - Disappointing Blu-ray

I’ve been giving Disney a pass on not releasing 4K Blu-rays but I think that has to end here; especially when I learned that Rogue One was mastered in 4K. This movie is loaded with dark scenes, interiors, and an extended sequence on a stormy planet at night and there is a lot of detail getting lost in that darkness. The film was shot digitally so I can only assume the heavy layer of grain was intentionally added in post to give the live action sequences a more war-movie feel. It’s almost distracting to see the grain-heavy planet-side scenes juxtaposed with the pristine visuals of space battles that are crystal clear. Colors are realistic yet muted, and the only standout visuals of the film are during the final battle, both on the beaches of Scarif and the orbital battle outside the shield portal. Rogue One offers a DTS-HD MA 7.1 track that suffers from some poor mixing levels for the primary dialogue – something I’ve never had issue before in any prior Disney release. When I saw Rogue One in the theater in Dolby Atmos there was no problem, so something is up either with this particular mix or during the mastering process. There were several sequences in the film where I had to hit the CC button just to read what they were saying. If I turned the volume up to where I could understand the dialogue then I was blown away by the music and effects. There is great use of all the surround channels and ample LFE to keep your subwoofer busy during the battle scenes. Hopefully we see an Atmos mix available in the inevitable 4K release. If I were reviewing the movie it would easily get five stars as this is in my top three Star Wars films of all-time. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a fantastic movie and gives me…err…new hope for the future of these spin-off story films, but when it comes to the home release I would have to advise you to wait. There is almost certainly going to be a deluxe special edition coming soon with commentary and 3D and more bonus features, and for you growing number of people with 4K TV’s and 4K players I’m betting you can get this same movie in 4K by the end of the year. Of course die hard Star Wars fans and those with disposable $20 bills can enjoy this film now and repurchase in a few months.

The violent darkness of the Star Wars universe is shown in this movie, a prequel to Episode IV. Being a Disney movie, the audience can expect that opening scene will not end well for the mom, as the father is being hunted down by the Imperials to develop a new super weapon. This weapon later turns to be the Death Star. This being the eighth movie made in the Star Wars universe, it was interesting that this was the first movie to feature Asian characters in a main role. Donnie Yen plays a blind, force sensitive guardian, and his battle brother and fellow guardian is portrayed by Wen Jiang. The main character, portrayed by Felicity Jones, is conflicted, trying to escape being captured by the Imperials, as her father is being held in captivity to develop Imperial weapons. The movie was edited due to various reasons, as one can research on the internet. One of the main changes was the end battle scene, which was shortened. Too bad that the original end battle scene wasn’t included as an extra feature. A highlight of the movie is watching Darth Vader in action at the end and why the dark side of the force is to be feared. Some people will quibble about the movie not matching perfectly into the previous Star Wars movies. However, it is far better and more imaginative that the horrible Episodes VII and VIII, along with being far more entertaining to watch then the dreadful Episodes I-III. No Ewoks or Jar-Jar.

    Great Movie, Its Star Wars

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a great movie. This movie did not have to be made, we all know the Death Star plans were stolen. But I think Disney wanted to make more money by making a filler movie for us to enjoy. The movie had too many dark scenes which made it hard to see what was going on. The DVD quality was low quality for the dark scenes which made it worse, the only way to watch this is in blu-ray. I can’t say anything for 4K since I don’t have a 4K set-up yet as soon as Best Buy makes 4K affordable, I will invest in a 4K set-up for my man-cave. “The Empire Strikes Back” is still the best, but that’s my opinion. I can’t wait for all the episodes come out on disc so I can run a Star Wars marathon on May 4th. So if you did not get this movie yet, buy it, get it in blu-ray and add it to your collection and have a marathon with your family to enjoy where there are not too many movies out there for the younger viewers. I would highly recommend this to my friends. Check out the other Star Wars items Best Buy has to offer. You will be surprised to find out what other goodies Best Buy has and some new titles to spark your interest.
