Rogue One: A Star Wars Story takes place prior to Episode IV and follows Jyn Erso as she is recruited to partake in the Rebels' effort to combat the Empire's newly developed cataclysmic weapons platform. The special effects are extremely well done and story draws you in effectively. The characters are multifaceted and are portrayed by a stellar cast. I was fortunate to see this movie in the theater in 3D and it was fantastic. Being able to see it again is a blessing as IMHO I believe this to be the prequel that should have been made in 1999 and early 2000s.

this is by far my favorite star wars movie in the whole saga, absolutely gorgeous in 4k hdr.

Never will be boring. Always keeps your attention. Sound and cinematography are phenomenal

I remember seeing A New Hope in the theater more than 11 times at the theater as a child. I also remember buying my first DVD player & movie (giving away all of my VHS tapes shortly after). And now, watching this movie on Blu Ray brings it all together. Excellent story on the best current format (BR). Watching the end reminded me of the first time seeing Star Wars (even knowing how the movie will/would end!). I've watched this at least a half-dozen times at home now. A GREAT installment in the SW Universe; the best so far, in my opinion.

I'm a total Star wars fanatics and out of all the new movies this one is my favorite ONE!

Had to add this title to the rest of my Star Wars 4K collection. Might be the best Disney released Star Wars film.

This is one of the better star wars 4k transfers. This one was not part of the box set, so It was a must have.

This package is easily the best value you can get with Rogue One. You get a Blu-ray copy, a 3D Blu-ray copy, a DVD copy, and a digital copy. Using Disney's far superior digital system you can claim your digital copy on iTunes, Amazon Video, VUDU, Google Play, Microsoft, and Verizon Fios. So, if you're an Apple ecosystem buyer you can actually watch this natively on your Apple device (unlike with the lame ultraviolet system). Highly recommended and you may as well get the other Star Wars and Disney classics to add to your collection while you're at it.

I was one of the people who pre-ordered this movie and I'm so glad I got it in 3D Blue ray. They had the usual dvd or regular blue ray but I opted out for this one in 3D for a few bucks more. Best Buy had a great price and when you combine it with the rewards you accumulate to apply. It's a great deal! The only thing was that the delivery was somewhat slow this time(bad FEDEX) but never does that occur. Must be a fluke...at least I was able to keep track of the progress and get disappointed at the same time. Best Buy GREAT...Fedex you lose this time:(

This is a good side story. There is mention of Rogue Two in The Empire Strikes Back.

Rogue One – DVD. As usual with the Star Wars series, the sound, visual effects, CG effects, and soundtrack are all top drawer. It is great and satisfying to get the story as to how the Death Star plans were acquired! And of course that lead to its total destruction. I always felt that this missing piece should and might one day be explained and it has been here. There is good dialog as well as some good tongue in cheek humor (atypical of the films) making this an enjoyable foray back into this amazing outer space fantasy! Good film!

Despite the fact that this film is designed to lead up to the events of A New Hope - and thus, the ending should be predictable - this is my favorite film in the franchise (and I wasn't one of those Empire fans previously). It most certainly is the prequel I wanted, and feels very much like a sci-fi Western - which has always been the overall vibe Star Wars has given me. A great cast ensemble, that of course includes a quirky droid, plenty of action, and a well written story - even with the obvious conclusion.

I have bought all the steelbooks for the star wars movies, and this one did not disappoint.

Never looked better! Upgraded my Blu-ray copy and I love the picture and the Dolby Atmos is fantastic!

Empire Strikes back is the litmus test for me. While this has a few weak characters - not Forest Whitaker's fault! he is always good if the writing is - I did not walk away cringing over Jar-Jar, Dex, or the wooden Anakin and Padme performances. And I gotta admit, Felicity Jones really surprised me. Normally she underwhelms, but here her typical vulnerability worked to add depth to a character who was essentially orphaned and then abandoned by her surrogate father (nee terrorist). I must say tho - I hated the CG Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia

A Star Wars Story: Rogue One looks amazing in 4K, along with an amazing story! Must have for any Star Wars fan.

Easily the best star wars movie not in the skywalker saga. It has no problems and feels like star wars

This film is for diehard Star Wars fans and can be considered Star Wars 3.9 in the sequence of events that follows it in Star Wars 4. The plot concerns the rebels finding the plans for the Death Star, while it is being built. The resistance will now have the means of discovering its weakness, which is brought to fruition in Star Wars 4. Sadly, the new characters cannot be held over into that episode and so they become true heroes and (spoiler alert) martyrs for the cause. What other back stories they may have in the works, is anybody's guess.
