I finally got Wifi in my house and we don't have cable. My new Samsung Bluray payer does not have WiFi so I decided to but this after reading reviews. I saw there was a Wall St. Journal Channel and a PBS one to stream. Well, Hulu is now pay (It's now Hulu Plus) as is Netflix and a few other movie channels. You do get a month of each free so you can test out. The WSJ channel is short 5 minute stories - not full programs. Same for cooking. Just short recipes. The PBS one is pretty good as it archives about 128 American Masters and American Experience shows but rotates them so they are only available for a while. Set up is a no brainer. I'm a tech dummy and took 4 minutes at most. If you use Netflix and your PC is not near a TV or you don't have a Smart TV or BD player with Wifi, this will keep you happy. A few weeks after I bought it, it dropped $10. I would have liked the lower price of course.

Picked this up for a smartTV that I got as a gift to fill in the gaps the tv couldn't stream such as Espn3. All macs in our house so the ease of use isn't comparable to an AppleTV but for my office it works exactly for what I wanted and as intended. No issues.

Roku was easy to set up and use! We love it!! Makes the most out of out TV.

We love our Roku. We use it in our bedroom that is upstairs away from our internet box. So at times the signal would go out while watching shows. I told a friend what was happening & she informed me that I could get a new box from my internet provider that had 2 signals and that should help. We did and it helped big time. The shows have been playing good ever since.

This item arrived quickly, was easy to set up and works just I expected it to. I have had other ROKU players so I knew what to expect. I would recommend this device to others who want to stream things like NetFlix and Amazon Video.

This is the one to buy if you have a TV that is a few years old or you don't care or need for any bells and whistles (4K, Voice Control etc). Additionally if you have an older Pre-HDMI TV this is the only one that will plug right in without using an adapter or converter. If you need/want the former I would recommend getting a Roku3 or 4 (if you need to steam 4K).

This unit was perfect for the system I had. I have an older TV, and using the video and two audio cables made it easy to hook up and run. Doing the initial setup after logging in the unit was a little difficult, but normal for a new user of almost any product. The directions online were a great help. Finding free programming was not as easy as I thought, but YouTube was a great resource of free shows and movies. It is easy to set up Netflix, HBO and other pay stations. Still save a lot of money over my full cable package and have more free programming from the UK and elsewhere. Only bad item is that when you do an alphabetic search, you have to select one letter at a time with the remote. However, I use my Cell phone to select the item and then send it to the Roku. Great Feature.

Roku1 was easy to set up. It works really well when streaming movies and tv shows. I don't use it for video games so the cheaper one, which was $49 was all I needed . I did need an HDMI cable. The controller that comes with it makes it easy to use.
