The Roku 1 is a compact, nicely designed media streamer. It may not have some of the bells and whistles that its bigger siblings: the Roku 2 and 3, have... but what it does.... it does well. The main features are those that count the most; 1000+ channels, built in wireless, and 1080p video playback. It comes with a newly designed remote that features 4 channel shortcut buttons. At $60, the Roku 1 is priced affordable.

Small and easy to use. When making selections it's kind is slow but once you've started the show, you're good to go!

Love it, love it. We are senior citizens and it was so easy to set up. It is also very easy to use, didn't even need the directions.

If you have a old tube style tv and want a quick way to watch more than just dvds this product works well. If you have the ability of hdmi conection go for the 3

This device is easy, convenient, and has lots of streaming channel choices. I only wish that it allowed me to stream Youtube videos.

We were having an intertainment issue, the DVD player in the bedroom quite and its on an older tv with no hdmi connection so this worked out perfect I have movies streamed over wifi to devise that hooks to my tv!

I would recommend this Roku because it is a 'small' unit that is an easy way to smarten up an older flat screen TV. Bought in 2013

I didn't want to spend money on a flat screen smart tv so I decided to just get this roku to access my netflix and hull on my older TV and it's just what I needed without having to spend 200-300 dallors.

Awesome little option if you have both old TVs and newer TVs that support HDMI in your home! Works wonderfully as an outside Netflix option for a patio TV.

I bought this for my daughter's room in lieu of getting another cable box with our provider. With our streaming media account, she is able to watch all of her favorite shows in HD, commercial free and there lots to explore. Configured to run on my wireless LAN, I have not noticed any performance hit for the rest of our wireless devices and performance is great. What a great alternative to long term cable contracts and the necessary equipment and installation, we were up and running in 10 minutes.

works as it is advertised. have not had any problems with this product so far. am able to get to all the apps that I need.

Most of the channels can only be used if you have cable already. We are also having problems with the remote.

Bought it for the living room SD tv, Simple to hook up, operate and navigate. The only thing I was not impressed with was the fact that you couldn't choose the user and it defaulted to the main account.

This device exceeded my expectations. Not only do you have options to choose from many different online programs but you also save a boatload of money from those horrible cable and dish networks.

Great tool for older flat screens that do not have all of the up to date hook ups. Decent visual quality. Sound tends to to up and down so keep the remote close to you if you have lots of neighbors.

I heard about the ROKU from a Best Buy sales associate and it sounded great but I was concerned about the set up and operation. I'm admittedly "tech challenged". The ROKU could not have been easier to set up using the included instructions. The instructions took me step by step in setting up with my wireless router. I was so pleased I purchased a 2nd ROKU for another room's TV. Thanks!!!

I was tired of paying the outrageous cable bill every month, so decided to give this a shot...worth every penny!

This was recommended by a family member who already had one. I have hulu and netfix subscriptions and am learning about the other free channels.
