I have had my Roku for years and I love it! I got this one as a gift for a friend and now he is binge watching entire seasons of shows on Netflix and Hulu. Best money spent on home entertainment

Like the different genre of apps. Don't like the fact that you have to pay to use or have to have some sort of prior cable or satellite dish to utilize it. But it's a great function to use.

Needed a way to make my parents TV "smart" and this was the solution. This basic Roku, is simple and effective and allows them to stream effortlessly.

We needed this model for a tv which did not have an HDMI port. it was easy to set up and works great.

Works better than Apple TV when it comes to staying connected to Wifi. We can always count on the ROKU when everything else had lost connection. Hands down best streaming device on the market.

This is a great product to watch just the channels you want. just pay for content you want and not have excess channels you don't care about. Also plenty of free channels like BYUtv and PBS

The Roku 1 is a great starter streaming device. With that being said, for just a bit more money, the Roku 3 offers a much better quality. The Apple TV also offers a great alternative for the same price as the Roku 3. The Roku 1 tends to load slowly and the menus do not respond very quickly. The Roku 3 and Apple TV load content much faster and the processor is better, resulting in faster menu transitions. So, if you are looking for a great streaming device on a budget the Roku 1 is for you. If you can spend a bit more than go for the Roku 3 or Apple TV.

Roku streaming devices are awesome! There is a lot of free content as well as paid subscriptions such as Netflix all together in one place!

I would recommend the roku player for its movie selection. It streams movies quickly and without interruption. The price was right and I like the choice of renting movies or purchasing. The player itself is small so it fits anywhere.

Overall a very nice product. We use it for internet services such as Netflix. Very reliable and easy to set up.

I have the Roku 1 cause my tv doesn't have a hdmi connection, it works very well and easy to use.

Overall I'm really happy with the Roku. I opted for the lowest end unit and glad I did. It already has an awful lot of channels that I don't ever watch. Paying extra for YouTube and a bunch more would have left me disappointed. This one doesn't have the headphone jack on the remote but that's not really an issue for me. The unit was a snap to set up and is easy to use. Overall a great solution to bring streaming video into your home. Would highly recommend it.

Works out of the box. Quick and easy setup. Excellent HD picture quality. Remote key functions show some lag.

So much to watch. Not all channels have to be paid for. There are a few that are free or at least have some free content. I very much enjoy watching Roku. And so glad it has a remote.

If you're recording all your shows so you can watch them on-demand, dump your recorder and Cable/Satellite and buy a Roku. Roku 1 will attach to older TV's that do not have HDMI.

Works great except when using Netflix, you cannot choose 2 different users so you have to remember what episode you were watching

I like the Roku1.. very easy to set up and use. I also bought a flat, digital indoor antennae, so I was able to cancel cable. The only thing I don't like is that now we can't get the INSP channel and we really liked it! Now we are only paying about $8.00 a month for Netflix rather than the $30.00 a month we were paying for cable t.v. You can watch old shows like Columbo, and some older movies. I do like the fact that we save money over cable t.v.

This was a gift for my mother since she didn't want cable T.V. anymore and she found a lot of really cool channels that she likes

I now have two Rokus, one attached to my most-watched TV and the other to the TV in front of my treadmill. Exercise hours have increased substantially when I can watch an episode of a favorite show or part of a movie. It is very easy to install, and is easy to use. I hesitated because one of the TVs is hooked up to a cable box and DVD player, but it doesn't matter as long as you have enough HDMI ports. I have recommended this to everyone I know!

Second Roku device that I have owned. Great product. Never had any issues with setup or use after setup.
