Very easy to install and you can start watching shows right away. We bought it to use on our outside tv. Too much of a hassle to hook up satelitte to it so this was a nice alternative.

But since I read it wrong and though it had a component connection, I was disappointed. For someone who wants to connect to this to an old composite video input, its adequate.

My parents enjoy their Roku. After helping them set up and add apps (although they only use Netflix) they find this device useful and most importantly, easy to use.

Easy to learn how to use. And install it is all on-screen prompts and following what the screen tells you to do it can cost alot since you have to pay for everything.

Bought this device as a gift for older parents. They are Amazon prime members primarily for the shipping and other benefits, so no additional cost for them to enjoy the movies and other Amazon streaming content. They really liked the many other free apps as well. HD quality is very good. My opinion is that with other Roku and competitive products that are available, this product should be priced closer to $35-$40 rather than $50.

No, it's not as fast as my Roku 3 but I can use it for my tube TV. Slower speed isn't a big deal for me. I like standard definition and this device lets me get it.

I have an older Roku box but it didn't have hi def, nor did it have all of the channels that this device can bring in. I'm happy with the Roku 1 and may buy another for my office.

Love,love, love my Roku. Thought hooking it up to an older model tv would be a problem. Imagine my delight when I found it had RCA jacks and no converter was neede.

Similar to my much older model. This one seems to lockup sometimes on the HBO now app to the point of having to unplug it to get started again. I thought it might be the app, but my older one hasn't had the issue.

Initially the Roku worked great. Three days or so it froze. I unplugged it and reattached it and it worked fine. BUT while detaching it I noted it seemed quite hot..in excessive of 125 degrees F. Since then it froze up 5 times plus. It is plugged into a recently purchased high quality surge protector. I got the Roku 1 because I have a Sony trinitron..analog. I am not recommending this product to friends. I also have a Fire TV and Appl TV and no problems with these devices.

The Roku it's great for a room without cable and is very reasonably priced. I only wish it has more apps that didn't require a subscription. With most of the apps, you are required to log in with a cable subscription. Others are a monthly subscription (Netflix and Hulu). Some of the apps don't have all cable companies or major network providers so even if you have cable and subscribe to that channel, you still can't get it on the Roku. If you have Hulu you can pretty much what anything you want though.

Purchased to supplement my older "smart TV" easier and faster to get to streaming services. Glad I purchased. Online ordering with store pickup is a breeze.

This would be a 5 star review had the all the channels worked properly. I setup all of my channels and when it came to Disney Jr. I found that it played one clip and then wouldnt let me paly another. I called techinal help, and they kept telling me it was my service providers problem and to contact them. So I did, and my cable provider was actually able to fix the problem but it was the Roku that had the issue, not the cable company. But long story short, problem solved and my daughter is now happy.

This ROKU was very easy to install and provided lots of channels. I look for Christian channels and ROKU provided a handful from which to select. I am very satisfied with it.

I don't have Wii, or a smart tv or a blue ray player but this works and allows me to hook it up to my Sony tube tv I watched my first streamed movie today. Great Invention.

purchased for my mother because the stick didn't fit into the slot on her soundbar. This device is not being updated so the neflix ap for example does not have the same features as on the stick or other models

I purchased this for my mother so she could stream acorn tv and netflix. So simple to set up and many features. I have Apple TV myself and wish I had gotten roku instead

Bought as a gift, set up was super quick. Brief update and it was up and running. Mom now has netflix etc on her old analog television and she's thrilled. Great purchase!

did what I needed it to...no more cable bill, easy to use, easy to set up, easy to navigate

this is my second Roku. the only inconvenience is that the channel M-go does not play on the second Roku (the new one) Other than that the product is ok.
