i am happy with my purchase set up was very easy it was well worth the money it cost there are many features that come with it this saves me alot of money on my monthly bill i now have enough channels to please everyone in the family excellent purchase

This device was purchased for the use of a slingtv.com subscription on my home tv. It accommodates that subscription service as well as many more including Netflix. It is a great value for the price. Sometimes the remote is a bit unresponsive or the response time lags a bit, but not too often.

I renounced cable television and the roku helped. With free and paid programming you pay for what u want and nothing more. Some channels do require sign in with your cable providers log in info but just choose another channel. I think the actual box works better than the stick but thats just my opinion

I absolutely love the Roku. I stream much more than watch TV now. The only disappointing thing is it won't stream youtube. Kind of shocking giving how prevalent youtube is on the net. I would have graded it Excellent if only it had youtube capability.

I have used a TV and also a VCR for streaming video and have not had great results. The TV setup was difficult and the VCR didn't get all the channels. I was a little skeptical of the Roku, but once I got one and used it I was sold. I have since purchased the Roku 1 and it has even more capabilities than the original.

I was a little unsure about buying this but after my first use, I loved it. I own a PS3 but I use the roku my PS3 won't overheat for having it on too much from also using it to play online. I bought this with my TV instead of buying a smart TV and I think that was a pretty smart choice of mines. I saved extra bucks!

Love the Roku but don't find myself using it as much as I thought I would. Also it's not as easy to start up as it probably should be. Wish it had more features/apps that you didn't have to pay for.

It is the best thing I've ever bought! I bought it for myself and bought the Roku 3 (more expensive) for my brother, but Roku 1 is just fine. I love the shortcut buttons on the remote. There is really no need for the roku 3 (save your money!)

I made the mistake of buying an expensive tv right before all of them were made smart. I regretted this until I found the roku. Instead of pushing a smart button all I have to do is switch a hdmi port. Same difference. Very handy and for $50 very good deal rather than having to replace a relatively new tv.

When I was told about this product I went to Best Buy and there was an Associate there. He was very helpful and went out of his way to find what I was looking for. There were three products that were similar but we were not sure why the price differential. The one I purchased is satisfactory for my needs.

I purchase this for an older model TV in my kitchen. So far I'm happy. I can watch my cable TV channels, listen to Pandora, watch Netflix,and stream other free channels with no monthly fee from the cable company. Only draw back is the remote is IR and not RF like the newer Rokus.

I love my Roku so much. I was considering the Roku 3, however, my needs have been met with the Roku 1 at a much lower price. The ability to stream netflix, amazon instant, redbox instant, hulu plus, hbo, fox now, free speech tv and many many more through one small piece of equipment is so fantastic.

I found the Roku 1 all I needed for Netflix to watch movies. I am still learning everything else I can do with it. I wish I had purchased it long ago so that I could have been enjoying movies at a very reasonable price. Not having to leave home and go to a crowded movie house works well for me.

Easy to use. Best to add channels with the remote. Was not successful adding apps channels to my account from computer. I still need my cable tv account so that I can see most recent content on some streaming channels.

For the money it gives you easy hoockup but short on setup procedure but if you read it closely it says to register product and steps you through with that if you use wireless hoock up I suggest a wireless booster to boost signal

Purchased this to go with an older Plasma television that does not have HDMI or internet access from the television. It was super easy to set up, is very small and came with the connectors that we needed. My daughter is very happy to have Netflix and Hulu Plus access in her college apartment.

Easy to set up, just plug it in and register your account. As for the lack of a YouTube channel, Roku is supposedly rolling it out for all of its devices in 2014. As a household that has cut cable and streams exclusively, I couldn't ask for anything better, especially at this price point.

The only issue i had was with the Netflix. Unlike online ur unable to view each genre. You must go online, do some ratings and they adust the titles you're able to see by what you rated. However this thing is addictive. And once the WWE network is availalbe, ill be working from home lol.

I was looking for a product that was powerful enough to stream from my Plex server at home. This was not the product capable of doing that. For streaming, it is fine, but it cannot handle streaming and transcoding.
