The Roku 1 is the Roku box to get if you are wanting a basic system with hdmi as the LT doesn't feature 1080p only 720, on thing to note about this Roku box is that it. Does not power down and remains on the whole time, which can be annoying, but still a good device worth the money .

I have been wanting to watch Netflix for years. It won't stream on our computers without constantly rebuffering. A Chromecast would not work because our TVs are too old. Finally a friend recommended a Roku. SUCCESS!!!! I can watch Netflix on my TV plus many other channels YAY!!!!!!

We bought this one because it has the rca connections and my sons tv uses those. The new rokus have hdmi connections that wouldnt work. Even though this model is the first one it is still quick and responsive. It has all the apps pre installed that we needed.

It was easy to set up and hook up to the internet. I have not had any negative issues with the device itself. However there is a app for smartphones but it will not work with my smartphone. Others have experienced the same issue with the smartphone app not working with the device.

Returned this item and got a Roku Stick for the same price. Easier to take places, can mirror from smart phone, faster upload speed for Netflix and Youtube.

I do enjoy the roku stick but I do not like that it has commercials during the movies I watch and I I'm still having trouble finding all the good channels and movies I also have been having some difficulties when it came down to connecting my roku to my cable

Deciding to cancel cable and purchase Roku was the best decision! We have saved so much money ! This product is very inexpensive and there are so many things to watch, we haven't even touched the surface on everything Roku has to offer. I would recommend this to everyone

I actually exchanged the Roku 1 for the Roku 3. Since the 1 doesn't have ethernet I had to depend on my poor wifi, which led to much buffering. It was very easy to sync the same account I had already created.

Happy that I am using it as it saves me money. Works perfectly with my older TV that is NOT a smart TV. So now I can get the internet, Netflix, etc without having to purchase a new TV.!!

The Roku 1 works as expected. The picture quality is great. It will satisfy as a simple video streamer. If your looking to add third-party apps this upgrade to the roku streaming stick.

Bought this for a bedroom TV. There are lots of channels/apps to choose from, many are free to stream but some one must have a cable/satellite provider to watch new programs, however, those channels often have "unlocked"/older episodes. So one has a enough options.

We use this device for streaming MLB.tv onto our tv so we can watch every STL Cardinals game as most cable packages are not providing their prior baseball bundles and in KC you cannot get Cardinals baseball without MLB.tv. This is a great product and affordable!

I originally bought the Chrome but then realized that we would always have to use my phone to watch TV using it. I took it back to get the ROKU and am happy i did. It has an easy to use remote and the entire family does not have to rely on my phone to watch TV.

I tried a similar product from Netgear which wouldn't work and their customer support was atrocious. I took a suggestion from a Bst Buy employee and bought the Roku. Very simple to set up and it worked properly on the first try. I would recommend this to anyone!

I didn't keep mine because i couldnt get it stream into the room I wanted. My network apparently needed more strength and the roku had to be in a closer area to my computer. I returned the product.

I love my ROKU... I use this at work and it is just the ticket for watching new & old TV series and movies too. We have a basic channel setup at work and this has expanded our channel line ten fold. My only complaint is the lag time when changing channels.

This is my second Roku, I wanted one for the bedroom because I do not have any type of cable in there. I downloaded the time warner app, and connected to my plex. Now I have my living room in my bedroom. I will be buying a third one for the kitchen soon.

I bought this for my home office so I can stream netflix and amazon prime. I have a Sony blu ray player in my office, but the network connection would always drop. It is the first generation, but it does what I want and for only $50, it was worth it.

Easily set up. Great alternative to paying for cable in my spare bedroom. Lots of stuff to watch for free. Only downside, lots of stuff you have to pay for too like netflix and Hulu plus. But if you already have subscriptions like I did it's great!
