Unfortunately my television was too old of a model to use either version. Even though the features says it will operate on non-HDTV televisions, it didn't work for my TV. So make sure you have a TV that has a coaxke cable connection.

I could never get the Roku to connect to my Comcast high speed internet so I was unable to use it at all. I got an Apple TV and it was up and running in a few minutes. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt so it sits in the box unused and unreturned.

Device is great and works well with our old TV. It allows us to stream VUDU and other application but the subscriptions to all the good stuff adds up quickly and any savings over cable can quickly be used up.

Works fine and had composite output for older crt tvs. However, roku forces owner to register and create account with credit card info. This is horrible and you have to call tech support for workaround.

the only down side is that sometimes it goes into a purple screen, I can hear audio but just see a purple screen. I have to unplugg everything and then turn it on again to fix the problem

I love using the roku products. The only problem I had with this particular one is that the buttons began to fall out after a while. The roku 2 doesn't have this problem.

It was horrible to set up and customer care was frustrating but it finally works. I haven't had the chance to use it yet though.

I purchased this for my daughter to be able to stream Netflix on. I was rather frustrated that it wanted a credit card # just to set up. I have no plans on making any purchases on this.

Roku is great to have for Netflix and Hulu Plus subscribers. But to be able to watch new shows off of M2Go, it charges you per episode. Movies are expensive to rent also.

I had to return my original purchase because it kept restarting on its own. After 2 weeks I exchanged it for another so far it reset once. Feeling hopeful!

Was really disappointed that you can no longer access multiple Netflix profiles, have to buy the most expensive one.

Have to have internet. Stream live TV $20 a month extra for 18 channels. None which is local channels. Waste of money.

Audio output from HDMI port for programs with 5.1 audio (e.g. Netflix - House of Cards) is downmixed to stereo.

not bad for the price, but sometimes it takes along time for it to load. For the price it's decent enough so it will do.

I would only reccomend this product to people who have healthy eyes...If you have glaucoma or sensitive eyes dont use this product cause the video resolution is way too high and will tire and strain your eyes. Roku should improve this product by offering options for 480i, 360P and 250P resolutions as well...I took this product back to store since it did not help me with my glaucoma issue.

Used to connect to an older TV compared to Roku streaming stick the quality was terrible. I returned.

It's a bit complicated for an older person. Also connection doesn't seem to be very strong.

I bought a Roku strictly to stream my Netflix. Big mistake. It constantly cuts out, buffers for at least 5 minutes, and when the show or movie finally does play it ends up freezing and an error code pops up or says it's reconnecting. Wish I could return it honestly.

Works good and does what I need it to do, but would prefer more parental controls.
