Love the ease of use on my Roku 2 streaming player. Even a technical novice like me could set it up and navigate through it quickly.

Have an older flat screen that works great but isn't a smartTV. This is a great workaround. Took about 40 minutes to get hardware set up, download needed updates, and set up accounts.

Has all the streaming services I want and an ethernet connection. Hi-def, and 5.1 surround if your download speed is high enough.

This is the second one I bought for the bedroom TV because I was happy with the one I bought for the living room TV. I recommended my friend buy one and she has been happy with it.

Have been looking to get rid of cable and switching completely to Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. This fits the bill. Easy to use.

The newer ROKU 2 seems to not have as many functions as the old unit. The salesman gave me the wrong information and I got this thinking it was the only one with a deal. I missed the earphone remote so I ended up returning this unit and got the ROKU 3. Both the ROKU 2 and ROKU 3 seem to have the same speed though. Also, ROKU 2 is infrared while ROKU 3 is wireless. This means if you have a universal remote with just infrared the ROKU 3 will not work with it. So there's definitely some give and take here.

Roku 2 is so easy to set up and use. I love the variety of selection available as well as the suggestions emailed to me.

Bought this for my dad for Christmas. He's a bit older but the device is very user friendly with many apps to play with.

Roku is still faithful. I've owned three starting in 2009. The new Roku is faster and has pleasing channel interfaces and each Roku version is equipped with a fast processor. What you get depends on the money you have or features you want. With Roku you get a lot of "bang for the buck." The other streaming players may be good but I feel safe that it is money well spent with Roku. Netflix has a nice clean updated look. You want a smart tv? Just get Roku and save yourself some money.
