Roku is great as a stand alone streaming device. I give the edge to Chromecast now, but Roku is easier for my parents to use.

I bought this device to eliminate cable to one of my tv's. It does a fine job as long as you have a fast internet connection

Bought one for my mom she Ioves it too and it's easy for a 70 year old to use.

I enjoy the Roku player lets me watch what I won't to see. And easy to operate.

My less-than-technically-abled spouse easily figured out how to use the system!

Works like it said it would, some times the channels lag but that is when the internet lags, I would guess. It works good.

Already had a Roku 3 which I love. Roku 2 is for my wife's TV and she loves it.

Easy to set up, fast. My only complant is that the salesman at Best Buy said it would work with any Internet service. Not so. We live in a rural area where our speed needed to be upgraded in order to use it. Works fine with 7mmps or higher

I bought this item to see if its Miracast in Beta would work, as then you could mirror apps not available on Roku from your Android or Windows phone or tablet or computer to the TV. It did not... inherently unstable. Yes, the processor is zippier than its predecessor, but I prefer the previous gen. Roku 2... the older Roku 2 has legacy red yellow white rca a/v out, a networked remote control with headphone jack out. This has a simple ir remote with no headphone jack out. I couldn't tell much difference in the menu speed... old Roku 2 works fine for what it can work. But Roku still has no in app purchasing on Android or Ios. You're limited to the streaming services that have come to contractual terms with Roku. No Watch TNT, no Universal Sports, etc. You can pay for those with Sling... but if you already have a cable or satellite script with those channels, why bother? You're getting this product to bypass Cable and Satellite... in my case, to bypass another set box rental. At $10 a month for the rental, that's $120 a year. I'd hold out for the New Apple TV ... and see what moves Google and Amazon make with their streaming players, as well.

The Roku is great very easy to use and does a very lot of different things

This has all of the features of the Roku 3 except for the headphone jack on the remote and 4k capability. Remote for this is different than other Rokus in that it is an IR remote that absolutely requires line of sight to the unit. Otherwise button clicks react instantly on the screen and the UI in general is miles snappier than the Stick. Who needs a smart TV? Not this guy.

I bought this for my grandmother, and she has had very little issues with it.

If your looking to not pay a lot for tv shows then this device is the way to go. I recently canceled my cable due to the increase in price and went strictly to Sling TV via the Roku2. Haven't had one problem with connectivity or quality.

I now get to watch unlimited movies on the Dove channel. Roku is awesome.

Roku has always worked great! Super way to watch tv in rooms without cable.
