Much cheaper alternative to 'SMART' TV at a lot less cost. Also gives the ability to place unit where internet reception is good as opposed to TVs location that may not have good internet reception (such as a basement). Only limitation is length of HDMI cable that connects TV to Ruko-2 unit.

No need for wiring or having a smart tv. This brings an older tv up to date and you can put it anywhere as long as you have a wifi signal. It works great in our upstairs bedroom.

Roku 2 now comes with the same processor as the Roku 3, the only difference is that the 2 doesn't have the headphone jack in the remote. I have a 3 as well, and have never used the headphone jack. My opinion, save a few dollars and get the Roku 2. Can't beat all of its streaming abilities!

This is the best streaming device for the money. Only downside is line-of-sight remote. Other than that, it plays everything I want it to and has a very user-friendly interface.

I purchased the Roku in place of trying to connect my old laptop to my new tv and it is perfect. I can watch all my Netflix shows and they offer movies and tv. They truly offer a bunch of different apps to fit everyone's taste.

This was my choice after cutting cable out of my life and I love It. there is a lot of choices and alone with a antenna, to get local channels it is much better then high cable bills.

I have a Samsung smart TV that often has trouble with the wireless in my house. Bought the Roku because I thought it might perform better - and it does! Also, good user interface and wonderful selection of apps. Only con - I believe remote is not IR so must be pointed directly at Roku.

I bought this because a friend told me about his. The Roku site gives you alot of free stuff to watch but if you search the internet you can find more free apps to add. The Roku is simple to set up and operation is as simple as it gets.

I would highly recommend this device for TV viewing at your convenience !

Overall this was a great purchase. The operating is smooth. You will have to sign up for roku service and give them your credit card number, but that makes sense since you can buy stuff on streaming services with your roku account. Lasted great so far, looks good, and wifi range is good.

This is my second Roku. My first one is still in use after 5 years on my living room tv and the new one is in my family room. Now everyone can watch what they want at the same time

I was able to return my TWC cable box, saving $$$$ each month and still watch live TV through the Roku. It also streams movies. This was such a great purchase that I returned to the store and bought one for my guest room.

I purchased 2 of these to replace older HD models after doing a little research. I'm not sure if it's a software or hardware improvement, but this model seems to have less buffering issues than the HD models. I would recommend to anybody who doesn't have Roku built in to their TV.

I have multiple streaming devices ranging from the google chrome cast to the Apple TV. This device was better because of the price point and overall experience. The Chromecast is cheaper but requires a device to stream from. While the Apple TV is more expensive out of all the devices.
