Great if you don't have a smart TV or an Xbox that doesn't have the apps this comes with. But if you do have that I don't see a reason to buy this. We bought it for the guest bedroom.

The number of channels to add for free or buy is huge, great for streaming videos from most populated channels (youtube, netflix, sling tv, etc). it should have a way for browsing anyway.

The ROKU is very easy to configure and start up. It makes cutting the cord from traditional cable programming an easy, next step. We use SLING, Amazon and Netflix - all through the ROKU. No set top box ever again.

Great value for the price. Works like a charm, easy setup, lots of channel choices (including Sling TV). What more would you need?

Purchased for my mom who doesn't want cable. She streams Netflix on this. She has not purchased any other subscriptions so besides Netflix, it doesn't get as much use as anticipated.

This is our fourth Roku 2 to use on four flat screen tv's even thought two of them are smart tv's. We have access to Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime and many more apps. It's so easy to stream movies and shows and search through channels by actor or title. The best is watching all these movies and shows in 1080p high-definition.

Works great! Wish the remote rang was better though.

I don't use many apple operating systems so it didn't make sense for me to get appleTV. The roku provides the same experience for PC and Droid users, while not diminishing the quality.

I moved from a full-PC media centre to a Roku and thought I'd be disappointed. I wasn't. The media centre lives dormant. Sure, it's better quality but the Roku is just so convenient.

I had a roku player, but gave it to my parents. I bought another one because I love it. I absolutely love my streaming player.

It was a little difficult for me, to set up. But I bet for someone else it won't be. It's exactly what I needed to watch Netflix hulu and more on. Can use it on multiple TVs too.

Great for kids playroom they have access to kid channels and downloading movies for free with hulu and netflix subscription... Beats paying directv for every movie at 3.99 or better.

This is a great little device to use on a tv where you don't want to or cannot run cable wires. I can watch tv through the Time Warner Cable app on my kitchen tv with this device.

I bought this device because my cable bill was out of control. So far I'm happy with selecting Roku for my transition. It took me no time to set it up and to learn how to use it.

The Roku 2 I think is more than enough to have, since Roku 3 the only thing is the earphones and that is not essential for me
