I recently purchased a new 24-inch Roku TV, and unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory. The television exhibits noticeable lag, making the overall viewing experience frustrating. Additionally, I've encountered instances where a strange screen appears, leading me to question the TV's functionality and leaving me concerned that it might be defective. The inconsistency in performance has detracted from what should be a seamless and enjoyable viewing experience.
Moreover, the controller that comes with the TV has proven to be less responsive than expected. It often requires multiple attempts to register commands, undermining the convenience of having a dedicated remote. This lack of responsiveness has further contributed to the overall dissatisfaction with my purchase. While the Roku TV concept is generally well-received, this specific model's performance issues, including lag, screen anomalies, and controller responsiveness, have left me contemplating whether it was the right choice for my entertainment needs.

I have recently turned to Roku for my TV viewing. I could not use one of my smaller TVs. I went to Best Buy, and I found out that there was a TV now that was made by and for Roku. I love finding out about all of the channels that are available to me. Some do charge for their services, but the savings between Roku and the satellite company that I used to be with.

Got this for my mother in law. The editable live channel guide is very helpful in paring down the options for an elderly person. The standard white outline for every selection is also good. After experimenting with all the main streaming devices, Roku and Apple were the best. But Apple doesn’t come integrated into a TV so then you are switching HDMIs, which can be a challenge for elderly.

I decided to take a plunge and try this tv out for my desk area. In 2023 there should be absolutely no reason why 1080p isn't the bare minimum for any display this size. I went in knowing that 768p (The TVs true output resolution) would downscale 1080p content.)
Let's get the pros and cons out the way.
Pros:
Has a clear picture for lower resolution.
Voice remote
Great for tv viewing in small areas.
Decent motion handling with little ghosting
Sound has some oomph
Cons
Input lag is atrocious on both 720 and 1080 gaming content.
PWM on all levels of brightness which causes eye strain and migraines.
Super reflective screen.
Colors are beyond inaccurate after calibration.
This was supposed to be a gaming tv that is a jack of all trades and even with game mode enabled the lag is awful. If I was to take a guess 1080p is about 30-50ms and 720p is around 20-30ms. Everything feels like you are driving a tank.
Newer systems look like smeared vasoline. My Series S looked smeary and my PS5 looked like crisco was all over the screen on both resolutions. The only thing that looked half way decent was my Nintendo Switch. Probably because it has an output res of 720p native/1080p upscaled.
PWM is a real issue on this set. The Westinghouse 24" may have a worse picture quality but it is always on sale for $90, input latency is better, and that set has NO PWM.
Roku charging $150 for this is asking way too much for what it is. There's too much competition to not warrant the price. Hisense has a 40" full HD for the same exact price. If you are wanting a decent tv to watch content on it, it is great. Gamers look elsewhere.
Wait for a sale on this one if you want to give it a try. The cost and input lag just isn't worth it. Roku definitely needs to add an update to fix it.
