Modem was very easy to set up, came with a cat 5e cable. It was just plug and play with no issues.

Provided many more options than apple TV. The headset in the remote control is a great feature.

Let's start out by saying yes, I used to have an Apple TV. I ended up with the Roku 3. Don't get me wrong the Apple TV worked great, but the fact that it was not an 'open' system limits it. The Roku does not try and push you to one manufacturer or another, it simply lets you decide what apps you want to download from whatever is available. Great product and weekly updates. Would recommend to anyone looking to stream.

I have tried both smart TVs and DVD/Bluray players with smart TV features. None compare to the speed and useability of Roku! If shopping for a TV and considering paying a few $$ more for those smart streaming features, don't! Buy a TV based on its picture quality and inputs, and then pick up a Roku 3 for all of your streaming media needs.

The Roku 3 gets sling TV and works great for that. The headphone jack on the remote is very cool.

I love this Roku. Its easy to install, easy to use, and offers great programming. You have to pay for some of it, like Acorn for British Shows, and SyFy doesn't offer its programming on its channel, at least not yet, but you can get so much from so many places that it is very well worth the money. I love the feature where you can just speak to get the channel you want. This is a good buy and great entertainment gadget.

Setting up the Roku was a bit challenging. I think they should warn you that you need an additional computer to fully set up all of the accounts. I am also disappointed that they do not allow screen sharing with Apple products, but I understand that could be more on Apple than Roku. Another disappointment was no SyFy channel app. Hopefully they will fix that soon. Everything else worked great! Previously we were accessing our Netflix and such through a WII, which is a pain to type from. This is a huge improvement over that.

Bought this to view Netflix and it works without fail. Really enjoy the headphones as well

The device has a small profile and a remote with a built in mic to search by voice. Setup takes only minutes. Everything just "woks" right out of the box. It has all the main stream apps you'd expect but games as well. One big difference in the Roku is that there are a large number of channels of all kinds of programming from smaller tiered media companies (and passionate individuals). This is a very nice bonus.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! Now.....I read carefully with bad reviews and why they don't perform as what they want. I have had this for over a month now and I haven't looked back since then. I gave cablebox back but I only kept 1 in my living room that has DVR capabilities. In my master bedroom, I quickly gave it back as it is PERFECT cable cutter as long you have Time Warner Cable. But time may be different due to the fact that Time Warner has be purchased by Charter, as far as my understanding goes. I have been laying in my bed way MORE often than I am in my living room. Roku is really not joking. it does have over 1000+ channels to choose from and I only have 75 channels on it! However, the only CON about this is they of course they are internet reliability on it. Once, you have internet outage which sadly I do but cannot complain, but good excuse for me to get out of bed and do something productive. All I can say this, research CAREFULLY. Make sure you know what you want out of it before buying it. I sure wish Bestbuy would offer a demo program to see how it works. I never went back. My cablebox with DVR in living room is already collecting dust!

Set up was easy. Works great with my tv though i still have to explore the fee channels.

I purchased this for my Grandparents. While I am an IT Manager by profession and as such I can grasp highly technical concepts with ease, rest assured my 80 year old relatives that are NOT technically inclined at all yet were able to learn and retain how to use this simple device with ease. There are tons of "channels" (Apps) that can be installed and they are still "exploring". They love it and use it every day. Setup was a breeze for them. I have setup several other model Rokus over the past few years, along with other devices link Apple/Google/Amazon streaming devices. Roku is hands down the easiest to deal with. The remote also has a headphone jack for private listening which is a feature I have not seen on other products without clunky hacks. For those of you that are looking for an easy to use straming box to bring your non-Smart TV into the streaming content 21st century, THIS is the device to get!

This is the third Roku 3 I own. The others still work great in other rooms. The new voice search feature was an awesome surprise, works better than I would have expected. The headphone jack on the remote is a must to watch at night while others are sleeping.

Much better than smart TV features on a Smart TV. Much faster. Great picture and sound.
