I already own a few streaming devices (old Apple TV, Wii - old and U, internet enabled DVD player, etc) but their interfaces are not user friendly. That's the only reason I bought the Roku player, and I love it. Most of all, I love being able to search across channels/apps. The easy access to settings (the * key) is also very useful. Moving channels up and down the home screen - another great feature. It also has all the channels that I wanted (before I had to constantly switch between devices because of no Amazon Prime on Apple TV, no Hulu on the DVD player, etc). That's that a consequence of its popularity though, not Roku feature per se.

We bought this primarily for 'casting from Windows 8. Though the casting piece is still in beta (and has been forever, it seems) it works flawlessly with 2 different Surface 3 tablets and my Dell laptop. Functionality for iPads is quite limited, unfortunately. There is an iPhone app (not iPad) that will stream music, videos and pictures only, not echo webpages, games and the like. With a wide variety of installable additions and a wickedly simple but powerful remote, it was a no-brainer to spend the extra $10 over a dedicated Miracast/WiDit box. :)

Tried the Apple TV. Used thto smart apps that stream on my new Samsung TV. None compare to the Roku 3 and weekly expanding channels/Apps that are available on the channel store. Have had mine for three weeks now and now "Cut the Cord!" Without a doubt, the best streaming device on the market and a must have if your a streamer!

I have been impressed with how easy this was to setup, and simplicity of use, it takes less than five minutes to move unit to another room and be watching your favorite program.

This is the easiest and most convenient streaming device ever! Works like a charm. No Buffering like I had with Chromecast every single time I tried to watch Netflix especially.

Much better than Apple TV! There is a reason CNET ranked this the best steaming device on the market. Easy to setup and even easier to use. Doesn't freeze on me like Apple TV.

Instead of running cable in house we just bought using this with TWC App and getting better picture than when connected to cable. Very easy to set up to your wireless router.

After pioneering the streaming device category, the Roku 3 has raised the bar with a perfected device with the right balance of features and functionality. Long live Roku !!!

I have a Panasonic Blu-ray player that streams better and faster, but I like the headphones feature for easy nighttime listening rather than stringing my headphones all the way to my receiver. I like the Time Warner Cable app for watching cable (Roku has a license with TWC for local channels like NBC...Xbox doesn't for their TWC app). Pretty much the same as the fist generation Roku 3, except for the voice search on the remote... I don't know if it is faster though (I haven't seen the specs). Overall, streaming is very good (Netflix and TWC qualities take a while to get to the best), but I prefer my Panasonic Blu-ray player for streaming.

I have been using Roku boxes since they first came out and with each one they get better. The great thing about this version is being able to use earphones from the remote.

The ROKU streaming player has been an excellent purchase for us. Easy setup, just follow the onscreen instructions. Great picture and sound. Wished I had done this earlier.

This Roku 3 has done everything from setup to daily use exactly as advertised. Setup was easy and use has been flawless to date. An excellent alternative to cable TV.

The voice search option makes finding the show you want to watch a breeze and being able to connect headphones to the remote for nighttime viewing is a brilliant feature.

I bought this unit to use in the bedroom. It works great. My favorite feature is the headphone jack on the remote. It allows me to watch TV while my wife sleeps. :-)

Easy to set up and use!! The variety is huge!! Great for people not wanting to be held hostage by the evil cable company!!

Bought it on a whim cause the sales person did a great job of explaining all the features and so far it hasn't let me down. Was easy to set up and a pleasure to use. Looking forward to our continued enjoyment of this device.

Roku works great. Very convenient and fast. No lag in choosing menus etc. Very intuitive. I also use Chromecast, which works quite well, but Roku is better, since it does not require using your phone or computer. You can still use those devices to control it, but don't have to. The remote is very handy, especially using the headphone jack. Great at night to silence the TV for sleeping kids.

The Roku device is very easy to set up and use. It comes pre-set to stream Netflix , Amazon, and Hulu shows. Works well, even for someone who is not a techie.

We were planning on cutting the (satellite/cable) cord for a while as we were not interested in having to pay for 120 channels while only watching 5-10 of those. We searched for various Internet based-systems and settled on the Roku3. Everything about this device is very intuitive and extremely easy to use and set up, and our kids really love it. Access to their favorite "channels" (Netflix, Smithsonian, PBS, Youtube, etc) is a simple click away. With more people unplugging from cable or satellite service providers, internet TV will likely grow even further. We could not be happier.
