Issues with my Roku

Loved it and then it died: totally black with no sound. SO since I had 2 extra Roku remotes, I purchased another Roku. The volume on this one goes up and down while watching ANYTHING. Also, I used to keep volume on 16-17 and for the same volume on this TV, I have to set it on about 35. Not sure if I have a defect or not.

The newest version will help you achieve optimal performance with the latest features. To check, press Home>Setting>System>Software Update>Check Now to manually check for updates. Additionally, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the affected change to fix this issue. Lastly, to turn off video smoothing ("Action Smoothing") on a Roku. Play any content or movie, then press your remote's "star" button. Navigate to "Picture Settings," then "Advanced Picture Settings," and select "Action Smoothing" to set it to "Off" within the menu. We hope this is helpful to you.

connecting to wifi issues

I purchased this Roku tv because I have other Roku players connected to 3 tvs throughout the house. I have had no issues with these players on older tvs. With this new Roku tv I have to manually connect to wifi every time I turn the tv on. I should have read more reviews on this tv because other buyers are having the same issue. Very frustrating. I will not be buying anymore roku tvs in the future

Don’t buy from Best Buy

We bought this as an “Open Box” item and later found out that they had removed the remote control. That made it pretty much worthless. The store manager, a child named Jonathan, refused to make it right and extorted me for another $20 to get a remote. I’ve written BB’s CEO, but no reply. I’m done with this retailer. I’d recommend the product but NOT this retailer.

Poor brightness control

Be wary

It was plugged into a UPS that does line conditioning as well as surge protection. Best Buy "delivery" was an SUV with several TVs on their side. The box for the TV clearly states not to lay it on its side.

Roku tv delivery and installation

Delivery was scheduled for Tuesday August 5 between 10 a m and 2 p m. At 1:30 I called to find out when I could expect delivery. Person I spoke with said they couldn’t get in touch with driver, but someone would call me back. Over the next four hours and five or six phone calls I was told that the truck broke down, they couldn’t reach the driver, somebody would call me back in 10-15 minutes. You will have a record of my calls. Around 5:30 I cancelled the delivery and order.

Does not support Apple TV

Very poor customer service

There was no explanation and I had to call customer service to find out what happened to my shipment. You would expect that I'd be refunded immediately but it took 2 weeks to get my credit card credited for the purchase. Horrible experience.

Another tv with subpar sound

Has more bass than i thought which is great, but it sounds like it's in a tube a little. A lot of tv's are like that, but not everyone uses a soundbar. I wish these companies would have better sound on these. Why can't you put audio level settings in?

Affordable & Easy To Use

Snappy, easy to put together (although I recommend getting a sturdier base for the TV).
