    Picture Quality Is Poor

I’m not happy with this purchase at all. The picture quality is poor. Sharpness and clarity is sorely lacking. Looks more like an analog tv instead of a HD tv. Otherwise, it’s a decent picture, but without a nice picture, nothing else matter. See pictures.

After a couple weeks lines started appearing on the screen. Since Best Buy has a terrible return policy of 15 days and I was past that, I contacted Roku customer service which disconnected on me twice after long wait times, I finally got someone to help, but the fix was temporary unfortunately. So now I have to try Roku customer service again and am dreading another poor experience.

My TV came with lines in the screen. The rest of the TV is good especially the software, but after all we buy the TV for the picture not the software.

I've been using a smaller TV for years, but decided it was time for an upgrade. I chose the Roku 55" Class Select Series 4K Smart RokuTV, and I'm so glad I did, what a difference! The picture quality is pretty sharp, with excellent contrast and a wide color spectrum that makes everything look vivid and lifelike. The sound is good too, especially with the 'Dialogue' setting that makes voices clear and distinct, setting it up was a breeze, the Roku system is incredibly user friendly, and I was streaming in 4K within minutes. I'd say that one of the best things about this TV is its affordability, because for under $300, you get a high quality 4K smart TV with all the features you need, including WiFi connectivity and a vast array of streaming options. It's perfect for those looking to cut the cord and enjoy free content. I'm so pleased with this purchase that I'm considering getting another one for my bedroom.

    Best Budget TV So Far

    Posted .

This is the best budget TV compared to five others that I recently looked at (TCL 50Q651G, TCL 43Q51BR, Hisense 50U6H, onn 40” FHD, and Westinghouse 43" 1080p). The picture is clean, bright, and rich enough. The sound quality does not necessitate a sound bar, unless you want deep bass. The Roku interface is better than anything else, especially when it comes to the OTA broadcast TV tuner (great guide and play/pause functionality). Power consumption is not bad at all, and the ambient light sensor (Auto Backlight) works perfectly. I found the default picture and sound settings to be ideal (Standard Picture/Standard HDR, Auto Brightness, and Auto Sound). This is not a TV for a Videophile. But it is a great choice if you simply want to connect to the internet and/or a TV antenna, and consume content with descent picture and sound quality.

    It Has Potential

I bought this TV from Best Buy and on the very first night of watching it (after about 2 hours) a vertical line appeared from top to bottom on the screen. I had purchased Geek Squad protection but it took two weeks for anyone to respond to my calls and emails. On day 3 of watching with a line down the screen, I called the store directly and asked for a pick up and delivery of a new replacement. That person was extremely helpful but I had to wait 3 weeks for a Saturday delivery. The picture is ok for the price (not as sharp as my Samsung - which got a ridiculous glitch with the Terms and Privacy setting after only 2 years - and never worked again). This replaced the Samsung and the new replacement is working fine but the my sound bar that I connected to the EARC port on the TV worked for one day and then just quit. I then connected the sound bar to the headphone jack and it now works fine (that may be a sound bar issue, so I won't hold that against Roku). So there are some issues with this TV but for the price it is working alright and the picture is clear, the colors are sharp and bright, I like the built-in Roku channels, and it is super easy to navigate. The Roku remote is one of the best (most responsive) I've ever had. So, I guess I'm satisfied with my purchase and if I can get more than 3 years out of it I would probably change it to a 5 Star rating. Time will tell....

This tv is great. This is the second Roku tv in the house, and I bought it largely on the excellent experience with the other. The picture is good, and the remote and software work well and are logical and easy to navigate. It looks good, is light weight, and easy to set up. The sound is pretty decent but I added a Roku sound bar which helps. Very good price too.

It arrived in great shape, set up was easy, and it looks awesome. Having built-in Roku is really handy, and you can control everything, even the off air channels, with the simple Roku remote. For the money, I honestly don't think you can do any better.

Great TV at a great price. The sound quality is awesome without adding anything extra. And, the picture quality is as good as your streaming service allows. Let me explain, If you're streaming from a channel like Netflix, ESPN+, etc, that streams in 4K/UHD, you'll get that amazing crispness. Some services (aka DirecTV Stream) only stream in HD. With those, you'll then receive that level, which is also good. Basically this TV gives you a great video and audio experience at a reasonable cost. And it's all on an easy to use Roku platform. I love it!

We have enjoyed our 4K Roku 55" Select Series since we purchased it over one month ago. The picture quality is well above our previous television and the colors are great. The sound is better than our old set, too, but we have to turn the volume up much higher than our previous one. Other than that, we're very pleased with this Roku TV.

This tv is easy to use and is well organized. I love the aspect that the tv is App based. You can you the the apps individually if needed and you can also update the tv, which would make the tv be more durable in the long run. There is other perks that come with the tv which are nice. The remote also has a voice command button and Two extra shortcut buttons to be able to access a streaming app. The performance of tv is above average quality. The sound quality is above average.

Excellent Smart TV. After a good 6 years my TCL Roku TV died. So I did some research and read alot of reviews and decided to purchase my first ever Roku Smart TV manufactured and built by Roku. The price was within my budget $279.99 with tax the total was $306 and some change. I ordered online and picked up at my local Best buy store. I received some help putting it in my vehicle. When I got it home the instructions on the box read open from Top. I'm by myself so It was going to be to difficult for me to pull the TV up out of it's box. So I carefully tilted each end to open from the bottom and slid the box upwards and away from the TV itself. I made sure to secure both sides of the foam holding the TV as I carefully remove the box up and away from the TV. Very good. After removing all the protective plastic and stuff. And the reading the instructions and installing the Batteries in the very stylish remote, very nice! I checked over the whole TV and no damage. Thank you. After putting my new Roku Smart TV onto its stand and hooking up all the hardware and power supply it powered up like a champ. The color is ok, could be sharper like the color on my Sharp Roku TV but after some adjustments it faired very well. When I turn on the Roku TV it simultaneously turns on the living room Sharp Roku Smart TV. Probably because they're both in close proximity of each other. One is in the living room and the Roku Smart TV is in the Bedroom. No biggie. Overall I gave this device 4 Stars! So far so good. Would recommend.

I absolutely love my 55-inch Roku TV! The picture quality is super sharp, the colors are vibrant, and it handles 4K content beautifully. Setup was quick and easy, and the Roku interface is super user-friendly. All the apps I need Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+ are right there and easy to navigate. The built in Roku remote is simple but works great, and I love that I can use the Roku mobile app too. The sound is decent for built in speakers, but if you’re into movies or gaming, I’d recommend adding a soundbar for that extra oomph. Streaming is smooth with no lag, and I haven’t had any issues with Wi-Fi. For the price, you really can’t beat this TV. It looks sleek, performs well, and is perfect for movies, shows, and even gaming. I’d 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality TV without breaking the bank!

Awesome TV for the price. I spent thousands of dollars on TV’s for my bigger rooms with their own streaming platforms built in and I always end up going back to Roku for the ease of use for others. AppleTV, Sony, Samsung ect streaming platforms just cant match the ease of use of Roku. The older Roku tb’s that had Roku built in just felt cheap and made by cheaper brands. Roku cut out the middle man and started making their own TV’s and they are quite impressive for the price. I ended up getting the Select because the Pro was not available and I was in a pinch. I’m sure the pro is better in theory but I have the 55 inch Select in one room and a 75 inch Sony Oled which I spent thousands on in another room. Obviously the Sony is better but you’d be shocked by how little it’s noticed. The Roku for under $500 holds up against the luxury model. If you’re on a Budget, dont waste time on Vizio, Hisense, Westinghouse ect, get the Roku branded TV’s. They are worth it and you wont find better in the price point.

I've had this TV for about 9 months now, and while it was a little bit of an adjustment (like the remote is small and volume control on the side). If you lose the remote, you can just call out for it and the TV sends a signal for it to beep. The whole TV is easy to navigate, has a superlative picture, settings to adjust everything, and it will play most file formats, except older ones like .avi. The sound quality is adequate, but the TV's connectivity allows for all kinds of options. The streaming capabilities are incredible. I've never seen anything that needed to buffer. The legs are not great quality and are spaced way too far apart. I solved this with an inexpensive table mount that holds it up from the center, so it's able to fit on a much smaller surface. One caveat: if you run into any issues, contacting the manufacturer is a daunting task. If you do need support, Roku's customer support number is (816) 272-8106, which you won't find on their website. Ultimately, it was a great purchase at a low price, and I’m extremely happy with it.
