My 2014 Samsung smart TV was too old to load the HBO app. I did not look at the Roku upgraded products because my TV only displays 1080p. This device displays "snow" - type interference on the image for HBO Max. Not satisfactory, but in reading the reviews this is a common issue. It also frequency buffers the stream and sometimes resets the stream, also apparently common.

It struggled to navigate between channels and kept bouncing me out of Hulu Live. I took it back and exchanged it for the stick. Spend a little more for the Roku stick.
