I purchased this in addition to a new 32" "DUMB" TV for my mother-in-law for Christmas. There was no television in her bedroom and she was stuck to using her phone. The Roku is pretty easy to set up and use. This is usually under 30 bucks and is solid for that price. I would actually pick this up over their more expensive models. As something you can throw in a spare bedroom or for elderly parents, this fits the bill. The only downsides I found were: 1) the cable management is kind of annoying. The receiver is so light weight that the cables tend to move it around. It does come with double sided tape but then you have to tape it to a television. I'm not a fan of that. Invest in some command strips that wont make a mess. 2) During set-up it added a bunch of channels I really didn't want. We wanted Netflix, Disney+ and Youtube. I had to delete about 10 other channels 1 by 1 that it felt I needed on there. The pros outweigh the cons for this product. If you need something quick and cheap pick this up. If you want something more fancy choose a different brand.

This is an amazing piece of software that turned our twenty-year-old TV into something very useful and versatile. Easy to use, and very easy to stream/cast from various devices.

Upgraded from an older Roku stick that wouldn't fit with my TV mounted flush to the wall. This is a great alternative! It's slim, pretty fast to load and easily attached to the bottom of my TV.

Every room in my home except my parents' has a smart TV or game console to stream from. To solve that issue, I picked this up for $30 and now my parents have access to Hulu, Netflix, and Disney+ in their room. Setting up was simple and navigating it is a breeze. If you plan on upgrading to a smart TV, don't buy this. If you're not planning on upgrading soon and want more viewing options on your TV, this thing is inexpensive and helpful.

I was hesitant wether to buy another Chromecast or try a basic Roku for the first time (I don’t own a 4K display of any kind), and some research led me to choose Roku, and I’m glad I did. First of all, its pretty much a chromecast with an included controller, so you can skip the step where you have to use your smartphone/tablet/computer to stream stuff, and its really easy to set up, also you can sync it with Google Home, so yeah, this is way better and cheaper than Chromecast, at least for my very personal usage.

Purchased for a friend and set it up for them to drag them into 21st century. It worked nicely. Comes with small Roku unit, USB cable, double-sided mounting foam tape, and quick setup guide. Does not come with a wall power plug. USB cable can plug into the USB port on the back or side of TV if it provides power. Otherwise, you will need to provide your own USB wall power plug, charging station, etc., for power. Keep in mind, the USB cable is only about 3', so, if you need to plug in to a wall adapter, you may need a longer micro-USB cable or a USB extender. But, if your TV provides a USB port with power, it should be fine. Remote is a basic IR line-of-sight remote, I believe, not WiFi remote? Not sure whether device supports WiFi / voice remotes or only the basic IR type? [Probably the latter?] Anyway, for the price, it seems quite competent, responsive, etc. I just mounted it to the side of my friend's TV with the provided mounting tape, went through setup, created a Roku account for him, and was up and running in about 10-20 mins. Seems to work great. And, he's happy with it.

Need to turn an old TV into a smart TV? These get the job done. I've had one on my main TV for a year or two and works great. Cheap, quick to set up, easy to use. Just plug into HDMI port, power it up and follow the instructions. Since I already had an account, all my apps and settings transferred from first one too. Since I got tired of moving that one back and forth, decided to get a second one. My first one is Roku Stick which has a little bit nice remote with Voice and TV control but I didn't really need those features on second TV so this one fit the bill.

Have older sony bravia 55 inch led still has great picture and decided we were going just wireless and dumping cable provider because had purchased 2 TCL smart tvs recently with roku so bought this to convert the sony . As with all roku devices have used so far setup was simple just plugged into hdmi port and pretty much sets it up for you other than a few manual things you have to enter in . So now no more cable and saving $175 a month . Thanks Roku

Easy to setup and teach how to use. Been looking for PC less solution for my mother after troubleshooting (malware, viruses, power supply, etc) her PC for years. She likes to watch one website mostly and found they had an app that was available in Android. After some research, Roku-Express was the least expensive (opposed to Apple TV) and one of the most user friendly solution. So far, both mom and I could not be happier and glad it was available for pickup as opposed to waiting for a delivery. The associates were friendly and it was a pleasant overall experience as expected at Best Buy.

Easy to install. I love the roku remote as it jas very few buttons. If you dont subscribe to hulu netflix or sling then you maybe won't like having tjose because they cant be reprogramed. I dont use sling.Roku is pretty user friendly. You can dave your favorite apps at the top. They also have the roku channel which is a bonus netflix-like with free movies and shows with commercials. There are also a ton of free apps for just about everything if you're a channel surfer. I like the simpleness and ease of use of Roku over sony or samsung smart tv systems.

I purchased the Roku Express so that I could stream all my platforms to my TV (which is older). I love. love the Roku Express. The receiver is super tiny and able to be put anywhere. It even comes with two sided tape incase you wanted to stick it to something like the side of the TV. Roku also offers an app which is great for adding channels to your account. I actually bought a few of these. I have one in my bedroom and one at my boyfriends house so I can watch my shows no matter where I am. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys streaming or is thinking of giving up cable.

I purchased this roku express to go with a non smart tv because of the price, I own a roku 1, a roku 2 a roku extreme and a roku tv. There isn't much difference between them all, other than their remotes, some are no point (doesn't have to point to the tv to work), some have an audio output for headphones and some have no audio output and you have to point to the tv to control it. Other than that all the rokus have are about the same. This one is small and you can attach it to the tv and is very responsive, we run disney+, youtube, netflix, hulu, slingtv, espn+, movies everywhere, boomerang, fubotv, redbox app and at least 5 or 6 other apps and runs without any lag, picture is high res, but the tv we use it for is a high end 50 inch one. Either way for 25 bucks you get your monies worth. If you're thinking about a roku and don't want to spend too much this is it.
