These lack TV controls (Power and Volume), so you must use your TV remote to control these functions. The current line of new Roku devices is limited to the Roku Express HD. In addition, in Roku model releases, the non-plus(+) models are generally equipped with a simple remote. However, if you wish to have functional access to your TV's power and volume buttons using the Roku remote, we recommend the Roku Voice remote. He loves it and uses it every day to watch on apps like YouTube on his basic TV. It took a while to set up but it's easy to use. Affordable way to turn your TV into a smart TV.
