Posted .Hello Millie, we appreciate you choosing our products and sharing your thoughts. Just a quick heads-up, some of our devices come with a Simple Remote. It's a bit basic and doesn't have TV controls like Power and Volume, so you'll need to use your TV remote for those features. Right now, the only device in our new lineup that includes a Simple Remote is the HD Roku Express. Generally, the non-plus(+) Roku models come with this remote. However, if you wish to have functional access to your TV's power and volume buttons using the Roku remote, we recommend the Roku Voice remote. My HDMI ports aren’t working on my older model tv…only one HDMI port works & it’s hooked up to my cable box !! This Roku wasn’t a huge expense, so I’ll just on to it for use on a future tv !!

Once or twice a year it goes on sale under $20. You can power it off the TV's USB so it's not a vampire when the TV is off. My old one was 6 years old and I only replaced it because 6 years seems ancient for electronics and it was on sale. This is way better than using the internal smart function on a smart TV. It has a better video processor than most smart TV's.
