    bad remote right out of the box

    I have a lot of different Roku devices, all have the enhanced remote. This thing comes with a cheaper type of remote that they say only works if you point it right at the device. Mine didnt work under any circumstances. I pointed it at the device, on the device, to the left, to the right, underneath, up above, on top...nothing. new batteries didnt fix it, Could find no way to reprogram it, no button inside to push and make that happen. garbage. I had an older unused Roku remote around the house that i could program to work. That is what I am using for now

    We bought the Roku, express, trying to find a cheap way to get some streaming channels into a guest bedroom. It took me three hours to set it up. And then it kept dropping it would never hold a stream. I was advised to buy the top-of-the-line ultra. Has more horsepower and better Internet connection. Will try that next time. By the way return it to Best Buy no problem.

    I would recommend spending a little extra on the Roku that has volume control and will turn your TV off and on.

    Great basic Roku! Does the job. There are plenty of apps to stream for free out there. I bought these as Christmas presents to replace older models.

    I have a TV smart TV with a weak WiFi receiver. I use it to pick up the WiFi signal and it is much stronger than the one which came with the TV

    Had purchased the "Roku Express" too since I didn't know which was best. But explanation not given about voice remote on one til after installation. Also, wasn't aware that there could be such a long signal lag before remote would engage.

    We had to upgrade our Roku to the newer model as most of the apps won't work on the older model as of Dec 1. This is a great replacement.

    In connecting the Roku, it would not link and a phone number appeared to call for assistance. When I called, it said Roku was now charging for activation? I paid the fee, but quickly discovered it was a scam! Canceled the charge and the credit card. Roku is not available to contact. Not sure about buying one in the future?

    Easy to get new apps on your smart tv but sometimes it wont connect to wifi

      Hi Fred, thanks so much for your feedback! You'll want to ensure that you are connecting to a 2.4 GHz wireless network. Be sure that your router is within range of the device and avoid obstructions like cabinets and walls when possible to help with signal strength.

      You can check the strength of your internet connection by going to Settings > Network > Check connection. This will test the quality of the signal and also measure the speed of that connection, to be sure that your signal is strong enough.

    I love it. I made the switch from cable to internet. I regret I didn't make the switch sooner. It does take time to get used to it.

    A great device, Works great and if you have Xfinity you could bring a TV literally anywhere on your property within Wi-Fi range.
