How stupid I am to have ignored ROKU and kept Cable

Good product but it can be frustrating at times. Needs to be rebooted every now and then for no apparent reason.

Works as advertised. Free channels not that great. Need multiple remotes to switch to imput.

I bought it for my dad and he is very happy with the Roku

This player is trash. I've had it a week and it has already crashed or locked up multiple times. I knew there were gonna be issues when going to activate the device and they want a credit card # from you - what company wants a credit card # when you are merely activating a device, especially one that is advertised as not having any charges of any kind. Well thats a lie because there are premium movies directly from Roku that you have to pay for (most streaming services are billed directly and not via Roku). Only way to activate your Roku is input your CC # and then come back and remove it. Then using the various streaming apps that I pay for directly, or are free, they will lock up or become very laggy. The problem is NOT my internet as I only have problems within Roku. I should have listened to myself and got an Amazon Fire TV stick instead.....the Roku is being returned and I'll get the Fire TV. Do yourself a favor, steer clear of Roku.

Works well as far as streaming. Simple remote means no power button. Works well if you are powering from tv usb port. Goes off when tv does.

Works perfectly. I got rid of a cable box and now I can stream it through my Roku!

Be aware.. this device does not have a tv input option. This means on the home channel page, you can not go to "antenna" or "HDMI" or any other input option. For us this means there is no way to get to cable tv without adding a 3rd remote (roku remote, cable remote, tv source remote). Super disappointed

Needed a basic streaming remote and this does the trick. Wished it had a volume button on it. Disappointed batteries not included.

DO NOT BUY this. I cannot stress this enough, I put this in the beginning of the review because I know some people, understandably so, wont want to read a long paragraph of text, but trust me, its HORRIBLE. It can really be summed up in one way, absolutely terrible wireless hardware in the device. It drops constantly, and I mean constantly, sometimes its every 30 seconds with youtube videos, other times its every 20 minutes with shows or movies, but either way, its bad. It has nothing to do with the proximity to the access point because the one in the living and in the bedroom do the same exact thing, and the one in the living room is maybe 15 feet away in the same room as the AP. And the bedroom one is maybe 40 feet, it's a small apartment. And it's not just the devices, I have gone through 3 in the living room and 2 in the bedroom and they have all had the same problems. The internet speed tests on them constantly report 7 to 10 Mbps down when phones and laptops show the full speed of my internet connection, or at least what is expected for the proximity. I dont expect them to show the full 400, maybe they only have 802.11 G or N radios in them, but even at G it should have 54 Mbps, and it's nowhere close. These devices are absolute GARBAGE. Please do not give them anymore money to continue making subpar junk like this, I'm going to try a firestick next, and if that doesnt work in just going to make my own raspberry pi stream box or something because quite honestly this is ridiculous that a company would put something out that is this bad, this atrocious, and call it complete, and even build it into TVs. I feel sorry for those people because they are paying extra for a built device that will fail after a couple of months of use. Please....please STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNK.

these are only good for about 8 months,then it's over and you have to buy a new one.

Remote doesn’t work I changed batteries two times Still don’t work

The 2019 model of the Express has playback issues with my basic Hulu subscription. Shows will not play after commercials (it will freeze on the commercial and start playing the show's audio) and the screen will also freeze every 20 minutes or so watching movies. I have had this issue since I first used it, haven't experienced this on other Roku devices, and unfortunately customer Roku support is not available.

Product works as advertised. There in lies the rub. I was mildly upset at first. Now I'm considering a career in digital marketing.

Does not have power button or volume control. What good is it? I have an Ultra, 2 Ultra Lte and an Express + and they all have a power button and volume control. Now im out thirty bucks unless BB will take it back open box.

It took me 2 weeks to get it to connect to network, not a good start. Changed out the HDMI cable for a better quality one and also the power cable as it kept giving me a red light. So far so good,but you need to upgrade the cables.

Says "Excellent" WiFi signal yet won't stay connected even as the Roku is is resting ON the router. Unfortunately, I bought 2 and they're both useless. I'm giving the entire Roku company 1 star because they have absolutely NO customer service to speak of. I would give them zero stars if I could because having no customer service makes them an irrelevant company. They could care less about their customers.

It does it's job. But you have to use a lot of remotes to use your tv.

Poor support from salesmen. There were 3 of them and I had to go interrupt their conservation to ask where the Roku was in the store. Lady at cash register was very short and not helpful about my online order.
