I had an old Roku 2 XS that this replaced. I kept it forever because it had the ability to push sound to a 2-channel amp with an AUX and then later moved it to an HDMI setup. It said it was 1080p, but i always thought the picture was less than it should be and the sound was thin. I bought this Express model because of the HDMI cable so I could attach it to my new receiver. HUGE difference in audio and video quality, first from the receiver and then from the newer Roku tech. If your current streamer is 6+ years old, just upgrade it. Oh, and I gave it only 4 stars because I wish they'd let you reprogram the shortcut buttons and include a Prime sticker. Really, no Prime? I guess Disney outbid Bezos on my particular device.

Decided to cut the cord and went with the Roku Express. It is awesome! So easy to set up and use! Recommend for sure!

Easy to set up and better alternative than a new tv

I bought this device to connect a second TV to Xfinity. It works ok but I often get an HDCP error which requires that I disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect it. It seems to be very random. I tried going to the Roku website and they had some recommendations to resolve this issue but they didn't work. Also the website says there is no support from Roku for this product. The other issue is that there is no keypad on the Roku remote which makes it very difficult to change the channel.

now they seem to have like 80,000 roku's I just got the basic model for extra guest room TV seems to be doing the job
