It’s works well with our Samsung TV. I only rated it 4 stars because controls like pause don’t work with the remote. The phone app controls it fairly well. Wish it would rewind & skip.

Solved streaming problems for us.

We were having problems using laptops to stream video to a hdmi projector, mostly with Linux, but with Mac too. Some services stopped, some only stopped when the HDMI was plugged in as they changed the DRM settings. Very frustrating. The ROKU fixed all this. Trivial to connect, easy to configure (you do need a ROKU account that needs a credit card but you can set up a PIN so nobody can charge it). All our streaming services are supported, and the quality is as good or better than the laptops. We have it connected to a 1080p projector, video quality is very good.

We have it setup on our not so smart tv that isn’t compatible with our cable provider. Roku is compatible with our cable provider it’s very user friendly.

The remote control is easy to use too so I have everything in this brand. :)

Cheap way to make dumb TVs smart

I would prefer the "higher level" remote with volume controls (or the one up from that with volume and mute), but I needed a bunch of these, so I went with the cheapest option.
