If you don't need 4K, this is probably the best route to go. I have multiple Express models in my home as well as a Roku Stick. The stick is noticeably faster, but it's not anything crazy. This model requires line of site, while the Express doesn't. That may be something to think about. Every once in a while (maybe 6 months or so), I have to unplug the Express and plug it back in to fix a random freeze. Is that enough to pay double the price for a different model? You be the judge.

Item work remote almost useless

My son suggested that i purchase this, after i told him how much i liked my Smart TV. But my other TV was not. I knew about ROKU. but thought it was a subscription service. Only to find out it does the same thing as my Laptop which i was using to stream. Roku is better and easier to use.

Roku Express HD Streaming Media Player

I enjoy watching my favorite programs through the device, many of which are free. It is relatively easy to setup. You must have an HDMI port on your television and a wireless internet connection. You must also provide a credit card (you will not be charged anything unless you decide to watch programing that is not free). If you want to cut the cable, it is a good way to continue to watch quality programming at a lower cost.

After the wi-fi was installed, I still couldn't get anything. Geek Squad advised the Roku Express was not the answer, but moving my TV to the same room as the modem and hooking up the Roku finally provided me with streaming content; and an unexpected bonus was Roku channels!
